With all the Jets hype this year, I'm curious to see how it turns out.
My Niners still haven't signed their top 4 draft picks yet. Rookies are supposed to report on Friday with practices opening on Monday.

I wouldn't worry about it. That is more like the norm this year.

Yeah, Baalke says they are having lots of ongoing discussions with all the agents. After Crabtree last year, I hate the ongoing hold out. It didn't benefit Crabtree in any way, I hope the other players learned from that.
Edit: and Davis, Iaputi and Mays have been at the training facility every day since the end of OTAs in June, so that is a good sign.

I knew that was coming but thought that would come from Montana Moe, lol.
I am a big fan of Brees. He is a character guy and one hell of a QB. It might be bias (but I don't think it is ), but I think P. Manning is the best QB in the NFL. Manning, Brees and Brady are the top 3 QB's in the game IMO. I respect the other two a lot for their talent and skill levels.
PS..............
Pagal, any word on Favre yet?

ya Peter King said it I forget if it was in MMQB or on his twitter but that the reason no one is really talking about Favre is because its pretty much known by most NFL guys that he just wants to skip camp

Obviously they are both exceptional quarterbacks. They both have rings but Manning is already a shoe in first ballet hall of famer who could also be on the NFL's 100th anniversary team in the near future.

Speaking of the NFL's 100th anniversary team and Peyton Manning, which is still nine years away. Who would Peyton Manning bump off the list from the 75th anniversary team if he is in fact good enough to be given that honor? Sammy Baugh, Otto Graham, Johnny Unitas, or Joe Montana? Some might argue that Tom Brady or Brett Favre could be in the mix as well.
The game has changed a lot since players like Sammy Baugh (who punted and played CB as well), Otto Graham and Johnny Unitas played. Rules are in place to protect the QB and the wide receivers. The game is slanted toward the offense. QB's in todays game can put up incredible numbers compared to players in other era's. Everything is so specialized these days as well. Johnny Unitas for instance didn't have a OC or QB coach. He had a head coach and called his own plays.
Peyton Manning will definitely be part of the conversation in nine years I guarantee that. But is he good enough to knock one of those four off the list? It will be interesting to see.
Edit:
I think I'm wrong about Unitas not having a offensive co-coordinator. Weeb Ewbank was a disciple of Paul Brown who was the first to bring in assistant coaches. I do know that Unitas did call all of his own plays though.

Brady still put up good numbers coming off of a career threatening injury.. He's all healed now and will be back to dominant form. Don't sleep on the Pats im telling you... the last 2 years their drafts have been incredibly solid those players will start producing. They are still miles ahead of the dolphins and jets for one reason. Tom Brady. As long as hes running the offense the Pats will always be a threat. Im predicting an 11-5 record this year with a division win. Too many egos on the jets the team will implode and dolphins just dont phase me... If brandon marshall can turn a 7-9 team into a division winner good on him but he didnt do it in denver nor do i think he does it in miami. Should be a great season I really cant wait

Reports are surfacing that Tebow will be signed sometime in the next 24 hours.

He took part in OTA's but was put on the active PUP list yesterday which isnt a huge deal as they can be removed at any point. Multiple boston media believe that he will be active for week one but may see limited action as they work him in slowly

I think everyone's feeling is that he is going to play another year, and that he will join the team after the 2nd pre-season game.
I just love how the media is making him a front page story again, and people are SURPRISED that he hasn't comitted to the team yet.

And so it begins with T.O.

I truly believe he will have that locker room divided within 3 weeks of the regular season starting.

I dunno about all that. I know they will be good, but there are some serious factors to consider when assessing the Jets.
1...they have 3 different really important players that want new contracts, and that can often lead to some dissension. Not saying it WILL be a factor with this club, but it has happened before.
2....Mark Sanchez still has a lot to prove. I think he will be an elite QB one day, but this year may not be the best time to show it. With the loss of Alan Faneca along the O-line, they will not be the same group they were last year in either run blocking or pass blocking. A concern IMO.
3.... an absolutely brutal schedule to start the season. In the first 7 weeks of the season they face, Baltimore, New England, at Miami, Minnesota and Green Bay. All PO teams from last season. This club would do well to be 4-3 at that point and could be worse.
There is a reason Vegas has the Jets over/under win totals at 9 1/2.

Speaking of over/under win totals, here is the complete list for all teams.
http://sports.bodog.com/sports-betti...team-props.jsp
A few that jump out at me are
Carolina at 7 1/2. With their QB position at best a clusterduck, I see this team winning 5 or 6 games max, especially in that division. Though admittedly they have an extremely weak schedule outside the division with only Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and the NY Giants as clearly better.
GB at 9 1/2. 11 wins a year ago, and a schedule that really is not that challenging. Though there are a couple concerns on defense, they will score a boatload of points and win some games by putting up 44 instead of 37.
Houston at 8. I still think this club is REALLY close to becoming elite and that total is easily attainable.
Philly at 8. I suspect they win at most 6 games this season with basically a rokkie QB, a tough tough division and a horrendous schedule.

Highlighted for importance. Jets fans totally undervalue Faneca, I think he is going to be greatly missed by the Jets. Faneca made D'brick look all pro, prior to his arrival, Dbrick was an average LT I see a huge drop off for that line which means decreased production from the RB's which was already downgraded by the loss of TJ (LT imo is not even close to the quality of back as Jones at this stage of their careers) and in turn will take more time away from the sophmore sanchez

I say the same about every other draft pick, no matter what rd they went in....no one can be a Crabtree this season...none of them, so i expect every single guy to be signed within 48 hours.
the fact it is taking this long is merely a by-product of the CBA/labor situation. Every guy wants "his", and everyteam doesnt wanto to give it all to him.
the Tebow deal is rather typical of ehat I expect to see moving forward....with an increase for those drafted earlier and decreases for those selected after 25.
