Official August Long Weekend thread - What are YOU doing?

we should have a cp gathering here in kelowna - would be fun to meet a bunch of you.

my wife and i came to calgary this past thursday and came back to kelowna on sunday - traffic was BRUTAL both days!!!! it usually takes us around 6.25 hours to get to calgary (especially if i do most of the driving ) and both days it took us 8 hours - ugggghhh!!

traffic was bad but the construction was worse. nothing like 'cruising' at 25 km/h in a 100 km/h zone!

...oh... and just a heads up - gas here is pushing $1.08/litre (and it will most likely go up right before the weekend - surprise surprise!)

as for my long weekend - like i mentioned above - came to calgary last week for 4 days... so now i'm playing catch up.... oh the joys of being self employed!

I live in Kelowna, but am definitely going away for the long weekend. There will be too many damn Albertans in town for my liking.

Up to 100 Mile House for a beauty weekend of fishing on Deka Lake for me!

Anyone else doing anything fun that is not in Kelowna? I am trying to find something to do but I cannot find anything going on.

Staying in Calgary for the August long weekend.
Going to the AKC dog show at Spruce Meadows and also helping my brother-in-law and his girlfriend move out of my house and into their new place.
My wife is going to Golden BC. to visit the grandchildren.
