Rerun makes ######ed threads.

It's such a bizarre thing to rant about... downfall of society because a Church locks it's doors on a weekday night. This isn't a movie, you can't just stroll into a church whenever you want.

Lord knows I've tried, I'm always looking for random gun fights between Nicholas Cage and John Travolta whenever I go by a Church, alas... none so far.
I've saw and heard about many homeless people just walking into a church and spending a few nights there. Getting something to eat and a few good sleeps and they are on their way.

I really don't think that the question or concern was that off, as many churches and mosques welcome anybody in at any time of the day.

But of course it's the same people trying to bait users because they don't agree with them. I honestly believe that a few users in this thread have a life goal to try and troll as many people as they can and see if they retaliate and get banned.

Don't let the fact that crime has gone DOWN significantly in the last 20 years in both the US and Canada affect your sermon.

You know, when I start comparing things nowadays to how things used to be, I check my negative impressions against actual fact to see if perhaps it's just old-man syndrome setting in. And usually that's just what it is.

I don't know where you get these 'statistics' and 'actual facts' but the world has been going down the waste extraction unit since mankind built weapons that minimized the desire to go to war. Without constant war, we have been turning inward to destroy our own societies. Look at those damn insite clinics in Vancouver. A filthy drug addict is allowed to shoot up right in a medical facility! Look at the homosexual gays, they are not only allowed to be open about their person in public, but the government is now starting to treat them as if they were a g-d damn straight couple (you know, the type of couple that does not destroy civilization). Look at how the government starts taking more and more of your hard earned money to pay for services for OTHER PEOPLE. Since when is it ok in a free society for the government to force you to feed the hungry or pay for your neighbour's cancer treatment.

And don't go pointing out to me that Canadians are more educated, that more graduate high school and attend college, because that is all bunk. The only reason these damn kids get their diploma, is that the teachers baby the kids, and give them higher grades for less work. You can attend college for crap like 'beer making' or 'women's studies' or 'social work'. Society is falling into a drunken cesspool. Prove to me that the crime rates are not falling for any other reason than people are too busy playing on their ipad.

I think this is correct. I walked by a church this morning. It wasn't even 8:00AM yet and the doors were WIDE open.

Who would it benefit to actually report crime has gone down?

Media: "Crime has gone down in Calgary over the last 20 years, but don't cancel your newspaper subscription, we have an exclusive interview with a kid whose dog at a chocolate ice cream cone, and survived..."

Police Administration/Union: "Crime has gone down in Calgary over the last 20 years, so you can decrease our budget by 10%."

Not unless I missed the sarcasm. If I did... it looked pretty real! I see comments like that on CalPuck semi-frequently.

the thing that would worry me if I was being chased by a zombie/demon/vampire/succubus/warlock/witch etc. Because, usually I'd be heading straight for a church to hide inside.
