So, was today a sign of things to come for Walcott, or just the product of poor competition?
Hopefully that header will shake the nerves off Chamakh. He's really been pressing, IMO. Seems like he should have at least 4 goals by now.

Walcott was brilliant today, and I'm optimistic he can break out this year. As long as Wenger gives him a chance to play a lot and he can get confidence and start feeling like a go to guy.

How about H. Gomes and Ping Ping, the world's smallest man?
It's a bit of a freakshow in N17, no?

LOL, good stuff with the lookalikes.
Reports are Squillaci is to take a medical test with Arsenal on Monday, and an agreement has been reached if he passes. Good news if things go well, we need some extra strength in the back line.
His profile at Sevilla:

Also rumours that Schwarzer already had a medical with Arsenal and failed it!

Arsene Wenger has reiterated his belief that Theo Walcott will eventually develop into a quality striker after the 21-year-old scored an impressive hat-trick in Saturday's 6-0 win over Blackpool.
Walcott, playing on the right wing in Arsenal's 4-2-3-1 formation, scored the second hat-trick of his career to help put his World Cup disappointment behind him and was a constant menace to the promoted side.
Though he has attracted criticism at times for his performances on the wing, and has scored only 12 goals in five Premier League seasons, Wenger expects Walcott to emulate his predecessor in the No. 14 shirt, Thierry Henry, by adopting more of a central position in the years to come.

Arsenal have agreed a fee with Sevilla for defender Sebastien Squillaci, according to the Spanish club.
After rejecting an initial offer from the Gunners for the Frenchman's services, Sevilla have now reached an accord with the north London club.
The 30-year-old is currently travelling to England for a medical on Monday, and is likely to sign at the Emirates ahead of the transfer deadline next Tuesday.

Seems like an odd thing to say with the likes of Chamakh, Bendtner and Van Persie here to play those roles. And it would be a complete waste of Walcott's blazing speed to put him as CF. But really, what do I know?
I like this Squillaci deal, as it shores up our backline, at least for the time being. Now we NEED a keeper and Wenger has a week to do so.

PICTURE the scene. Theo Walcott has just scored a brilliant hat-trick to help Arsenal thrash Blackpool 6-0 at the Emirates.
He settles down to watch the highlights on Match of the Day, looking forward to seeing it all over again.
But then he gets slaughtered by Alan Hansen. Totally and unnecessarily insulted.

We haven't even lost a match yet I'm afraid we've already lost the league... Completely disappointed with today's inactivity.

Not pretty, today but still managed a 4-1 win. With all our injuries again, Rosicky and Fabergas are super key to keeping pace with Chelsea.
Defence is still not playing well in front of our net.
