and while it hurt Liverpool I think that had more to do with the lack of depth around Steve and Fernando because the owners wouldn't bring it in, so in a game where those two weren't 100% there was no one else to really create

Which is pretty much exactly what I said.
In other news, Joe Cole may not be worth £90K per week, but do you know who is? If you guessed Nemaja Vidic, you'd be right!

Manchester United are reportedly ready to offer Nemanja Vidic a new four-year contract worth £90,000-a-week to ward off interest from Real Madrid.

Well, you do know your team better than I do. One last thing to say before this sub-discussion is wound-up, I think the difference between the Europa League and CL will be revealed if Spurs go deeper into CL; when you have mid-week games against the likes of Barca or Inter. Nonetheless, it shall be an adventure!

I hope he doesn't go just because he is exactly what United have been missing ever since Scholes got old
I think they would leap frog Chelsea as favorites

according to Sky Sports Mark Hughes will be announced as new Fulham manager tomoro
good signing for them, I think MJ would have been better, but Hughes never should have been fired at Man City

Setanta HD will be awesome, thank god I'll be back in Calgary by September because I'm sure it'll take several months to get it on Northwestel Cable up here. It's also really sweet the way the games are spread over the 3 channels, I love Setanta but it kinda sucked last year having to wait for tape delay on Saturday if you wanted to watch a game with 2 crappy teams (Sunderland vs _______).

It was only a matter of time before he got sacked; he wasn't as big of a name as the club's new aspirations.

It really is! I was telling my mum just the other day that she'll need to re-order Setanta for next month as I'll be in Calgary till the 25th. Now I'll get to watch the matches in HD and for free!

ya it was an impossible situation and no one was surprise he was given the boot but I still think it was the wrong call
I don't rate Mancini at all and don't like any of the signings he has made so far at the club

Neither does Dietmar Hamann!
Quote:
"I don't see City as title contenders. They need to bring some continuity to the club and stick with the players they have got. They have got to choose them carefully and buy the right ones. But if they keep doing what they are at the moment I don't see them challenging Manchester United or Chelsea.
"City have got bundles to spend and they need to spend wisely. I am not sure if they are doing that. If you don't do things right off the field it is hard to get them right on it. That transpires to the whole set-up including the backroom staff and doctors. The City fans will want to see new arrivals - but big names don't win you games or win you titles.

England's International Goalkeeper No Longer in Premiership

This might say a thing or two about England's woeful WC ambitions....an inept Rob Green and a Championship Caliber keeper they pinned their hopes on...

Yep, but apparently the best keeper in the league last year wasn't good enough to start. Way to go, Fabio.

Ya if Joe Hart doesn't start their first Euro qualifying match next month Capello should be sacked during the game
I think that was just an ego thing, same with refusing to play Gerrard off Rooney and have Joe Cole on the left

wasn't that Hughes before he got sacked?
if it was Mancini I will give him that one
dont like Silva in the Premier league though, Toure got paid like he is a top 5 MF in the world, and they still haven't fixed their two biggest problems in defense and a creative central midfielder (Mancini refuses to play their only one in Ireland)
Kolarov is a good attacking LB but he doesn't help them at the back very much

Whoah there, everyone knows that the best keeper in the league is always whoever plays for Chelsea or Man U.

God, Robinho is so frustrating. I'm no ManCity fan but he's capable of so much more than he has ever shown but he wants everything easy. He wants the big bucks to stay with Santos in Brazil but Santos can't afford him. Either take less money to stay in Brazil where you obviously want to be or go back to ManCity and act like you give a damn. The guy should be a superstar but is just a Pavol Demitra type.
On a side note, if anyone gets a chance to watch Santos play in the Brazilian league, do it. Other than Robinho, they have Brazil's 2 next superstars in Paulo Henrique Ganzo and Neymar. They're both under 21 I believe and are unbelievable to watch together. Santos has a sick attack and these guys run it. They should be what Robinho and Diego should have been.
