You hate me over $4.99?

Man, I remember back in the day, I bought GTA IV for $8.99 last Christmas. Man, I feel ripped. I want my $4.00 back Steam!

That's actually my video that I made awhile ago. I love the first person mod. I wish I was able to play all games in first person. With the size of the city, the immersion factor is completely different in first person. I only wish the car interiors used higher resolution textures as you were never intended to view them up close like you do in first person. I'm sure there is a texture mod out there somewhere that I haven't found yet.

GTA IV is a pretty demanding game, you'll need a beefy system to run it well at max settings, a quad core is recommended but you can scale down the graphics.

Here's someone else's video of GTA IV first person.

The only beef I have with the Steam version is I set it to not allow the game to auto patch itself but it did. When it auto patched, the new version broke a lot of mods that I had to wait a few months for the mod makers to make new versions for the new game version. I'm still waiting for ENB Series for antialiasing via supersampling.

Yes. You can see cycling between first and 3rd person in some of the vids. It just becomes one of the views when you double tap the change view button.

If you get it, can I take you up on your offer of trying your 3D?

Don't have the mod yet, but I bought GTAIV today (not installed, server too busy last time I checked). Of course you can take me up on my offer, that's what it's for.

My steam list is starting to look a bit like a cafe thanks to this thread so there'd be lots of other good stuff for you to try as well. You might want to wait until after the sale ends (who knows how many more games will be on the list by then!), but if it's really just GTAIV first person you're interested in then you're welcome to see it earlier.

I'll wait until the end of the sale. It's just that I often find myself driving around in GTA IV and wishing that it was in 3D after sitting in Best Buy and trying the 3D TV demo I realized how much more natural feeling it was to me.

Nvidia's 3D surround drivers are out on July 12th as well.

In GTA IV there is a lot of driving of course and it can get a bit mundane and I wish I had 3D. I am getting a little tired of it and started taking Taxi's more. I wish there was a way to make the public transit system fast travel. The subway/elevated train system makes you go from stop to stop.

Hmm... for some reason I can't get the ArmA II demo to NOT look like garbage (Q6600, 9800 GTX Black). Guess I won't be buying that one!

I was going to buy Flatout: Total Carnage when it was like $7.50 the other day. At $2.00 today I'm glad I waited

Edit: And Red Orchestra and Shatter. I freaking love these sales

The one you need is Xliveless
http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=388658

You also need to have this scripthook
http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=390582

Just put the xlive.dll, scripthook.dll, FirstPerson.asi, and FirstPerson.ini all into the root GTA IV directory and you should be good to go.

To activate first person, double-tap change view.

I bought the Commandos pack yesterday as I had good memories of those games. Bad mistake. They are totally broken.

Many people can't use them in Vista/7 and in two of the games, you can't even save your game at all. One of the games runs too fast. The other ones are stuck at terrible resolutions. They also crash all the time.

It's sad that Steam can release garbage like this in this state and offer no refunds or support or help and feature them on their main page.

Shatter and Torchlight are great pickups at that price. Well, I think Shatter is a good pickup at any price point.

King's Bounty: Gold Edition - $9.99 (75% off)

Never heard of the game before, but I randomly picked this one up on a whim and was surprised in a good way. Highly recommended for fans of FF Tactics or HoMM single-player type games.

Also picked up Killing Floor last week @ $5.00. Ah, I love these Steam sales sometimes..

I love buying the indie games like Shatter and PB Winterbottom for a few bucks each. Not as interested in the big name games.

Picked up Red Orchestra, thinking of Tropico but keep thinking twice about it.

Anybody tried Titan's Quest? Is it a bit like Diablo? Good co-op multiplayer?

I bought the Void yesterday. I don't know why. It just looks so wierd and dream like and artsy. I don't know if I will ever play it.

I'm about 4 hours into Titan Quest. Seems pretty fun so far, your traditional combat RPG with a ton of classes.

For $5, it's definitely worth it. I just need to find some time to play all these damn games. Over 100 on my steam list, sigh.

Tropico is awesome. I've been playing the Absolute Power expansion every since I bought it last weekend.
