IMO, they both suck. If you're going to poison yourself, I'm not sure it makes a difference?
Taco Time can be hit or miss. The Airdrie Taco Time for example, is excellent. I could eat twice as many tacos there as I could at the 5th avenue food court Taco Time.
OK. All Americanized 'Mexican' food is crap. Arguing about TT vs TB is like a debate on which El Camino is the least pervy car.
It's actually Tex-Mex, which means they substitute chopped beef for ground beef, the tacos are in hard shells, or craptastic flour tortillas and the spicy flavour is toned down for the entitled pop and cheeseburger crowd..."what? no french fries? what kind of place is this?"
The only thing that Tacotime has going for it is their salsas. Put enough Diablo Sauce on a turd, and it would be tolerable.
Actually, Tacotime Cantina has two things going for it: $5 Pacificos. With enough Diablo and Pacificos, I could probably eat McDonalds again. As long as there was an available, well stocked lavatory nearby.

Its prob just my tastebuds being used to it, but I totally prefer Americanized Mexican food than the real deal.
Flour-based tortilla >>> corn-based tortilla. Best Mexican food I've ever had(by a mile) is in Phoenix. And I've been to Mexico twice.
Well I attempted 10 tacos thinking it would be easy and I would go back for 5 more. 10 tacos was harder then I thought. I got through the first 5 easy and quickly the next 3 were much more difficult. At 8 tacos I had a decision to make, eat myself sick or throw in the towel. I had meetings to get back to in the Afternoon. So I laid up at 8.5 tacos.
I did however make a mistake and ordered pop. That definately filled me up more than neccessary. With proper training I am confindent I could get to 15. People look at you funny when you and your buddy order 10 tacos each. May buddy only made it to 6 but he wasn't really comitted.

Yeah, but TT is from real beef cooked in the store as needed, and then its essentially the hard shell, lettuce and tomato. While certainly not a staple crop of nutrition its a hell of a lot less bad for you than a burger eating contest. TB has pre-cooked meat brought into the stores each day and their sauces are crap.
If you want to particpate you can make your own tacos. Actually, they're worth more points than purchased ones. Its only game on Tuesdays though.

Well, we'll disagree, then... ¡SILLY GRINGO!
Del Taco is probably the Holy Grail of Mexican fast food franchises. I guess Chipotle can be included in there, too.
Trad, I've participated in this contest before there were sanctioned rules:

My record is 8 Tacos(4hard, 4 soft), 4 Pacificos, and the 2 Nachos.
So, according to the calories listed in the above post...I'm dead.
PS they are gross, but what are ya gonna do?
I love Mexican food.
I cherish going to authentic places and asking for the hottest possible salsa. I almost alway take the first bite and call them pussies (or close to it) and ask for more spice. They always look on as I begin to eat, to sweat buckets, and give' em the ol' thumbs up. Most Latinos think we (Norte Americanos) are pussies when it comes to the spicy food... I like seeing their reaction as I lap it up. They probably don't like that I use 7 times the napkins of a regular customer, but "Chinga te Madre, Cabrones" is all I ever tell 'em.
sorry i must not have been clear. there was a point when i was in university (~2 yrs ago) when taco tuesdays were no longer 99cents but like $1.19 or $1.39 or something.. damn inflation!!
does anyone know if the University taco time has 99cent taco tuesdays again?
At the airdrie taco time location right now, posting from my iPhone. Two tacos down, I'll eat as many as I can but I don't want to make myself sick. If I can get through 6 I'll be happy. Pictures to follow.
Update: four tacos done. I am starting to feel it a little. I wanted to buy a ranch dressing to make a little salad out of the last few but I couldn't find any change and didn't want to use my debit for 50 cents.
That guy with the cell phone on the cover of the sun yesterday looks like a real loser.

I ate 3 tacos and 2 orders of Mexi Fries for lunch. The sassy black lady who works in the food court Taco Time till downtown was also wearing her 'cougar' shirt. The fries were still saturated in oil. Overall it was quite disgusting. God bless taco tuesday!
Laying up at 6 tacos today. Pretty sure I could finish 8 but I still want to do something tonight, I can't be stuck on the toilet. Will update with photos when I get home.

I don't think tacos you ate at noon today will show up until at least tomorrow morning.
Digestion time varies depending on the individual. For healthy adults, it's usually between 24 and 72 hours. After you eat, it takes about six to eight hours for food to pass through your stomach and small intestine. Food then enters your large intestine (colon) for further digestion and absorption of water. Elimination of undigested food residue through the large intestine usually begins after 24 hours. Complete elimination from the body may take several days.
