I like reading the NHL threads and usually trade discussions are more insightful here than on the Devils board.... but I'll rarely post unless it involves the Devils. Besides, this time of year, off-topic is far more interesting.

CP is entertainment for me.

Some people agree with me, some don't.

My self-esteem is not predicated on either.

We are only on this planet for a short time, don't waste a second of it worrying about what people on here think of you.

Think about it...in one hundred years you, me and every single person on here will have passed away...

Fifty years after that, anyone who would have known us personally will be gone as well...meaning no one will remember any of us much less what we posted on CP.

Remember, the worst thing that can happen to you is one of the MODS will ban you.

So?

There are plenty of other boards out there one the net, just find another one.

Have a great day!

Do You Realize - that everyone you know someday will die

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Do You Realize - Oh - Oh - Oh
Do You Realize - that everyone you know
Someday will die -

It's not that I dislike them, but I'm just sick of opening a thread and seeing the same one liners and the same opinion constantly being spewed. It's not only those two posters, but the same stuff being repeated by about 10 different people.

And Ignoring them does nothing since their posts get quoted a million times, and I'm stuck reading it anyways. I have one person on ignore and they still find ways to communicate with me. Pretty useless feature IMO.

I still visit the "other side" often just not as often as probably when the Flames were playing where I could enjoy actually having a conversation about hockey with other users, rather than " Death to Sutter" every other post.

I only hope the more annoying posters dissapear after this summer when the Flames do little to nothing to change team.

That and we get a random thoughts thread back.

I don't post much to begin with but lately I only go onto the other side for a quick check to see what's up and that's about it. It's the same thing over and over in every thread anyhow. Oh CP I miss the days when you weren't so popular.

I had to defend my thoughts, and provided fact, but it was like I no longer belonged on the board, because I didn't share the same "In Sutter We Trust" thought process.

Some of those "In Sutter we trust" guys are just as whack as the "constant negaitive" guys. A couple days ago there was a thread discussing Brent Sutter and couple of guys (can't remember the specifics) were calling Brent one of the best coaches.

When a few posters claimed that wasn't true, one of the responses was something to the effect of "he hasn't been in the league long enough to prove that he isn't one of the best".

So it was like in their eyes, Brent Sutter doesn't have to build a career of accomplishments to become one of the best. He starts as one of the best, and then he has to be in the league for a number of years, with poor results to lose his "one of the best" status.

I agree that there is a lot of harsh posts but that comes with any message board about sports. Throw in perhaps the most passionate fans of a specific team into the mix and a team that has failed to live up to expectations and you have the ingredients for some bickering. Some of us like stirring the pot and being vocal about how they feel and we take it more then anyone but actually I like it when I get a response that has somebody all fired up, nothing wrong with debating and passion with a touch of insanity, lol.

I try not to post on any thread. No matter how I word it I usually get into a silly argument with somebody. Like right now I am trying to word it properly so I don't get accused about who knows what.

I am thinking that during the season I will try to stay away from the various Flames threads. It always turns into a big circle of the same topics. (Again I hesitate in saying that because somebody may bring up that comment later in the season if I post something.)

I think one of the issues with the FoI forum and even here to some degree is the sheer number of people on this site with an opinion. If you aren't willing to commit hours a day to it your posts get lost in the shuffle and by the time you come back to defend your argument the discussion moved on pages ago.

The only thing that bothers me is the people who complain that a thread has been opened and then the thread has two pages of arguement about the quality of the thread until people start discussing the topic. A crack down on the whole Fata/stupid thread people would make me very happy.

The other one that bugs me is people fishing for thanks. The prevalance of one liners is an attempt to get thanks bugs me too.

I post in the FoI forum just to harass people so badly they come into a thread like this and post about not being able to post there.
