Okay, to re-iterate, I'm not looking for a hip nightclub scene, gourmet food and I'm not picking up any chicks (or 'Bridge trolls' as they're affectionately referred to) because my GF would be irked, I want a decent pub to watch the hockey game at that is reasonably close to my hotel.

So far, I'll give the "Shark Club" some consideration, and the name of a sports pub was thrown out there....'Scores?' That sounds promising.

Downtown on 6th street. Not as nice scenery as Shark Club but still ok.

Average Joes is definately a "clicky" kind of establishment, almost like a "cheers"

Is the Shark Club a good place to watch the hockey game?

If I were in town to go out to watch the game tonight I would probably go to Average Joes. The new one has only been open for a week or two, so I haven't been yet.
Shark Club is definitely a nicer place and the servers show off more, but it is pretty much all booths to sit in. It's more of a lounge than a sports bar.
Then there is Ezzies and Studio which are nightclubs, but will be busy.
This is my first summer that I've spent down here in Lethbridge, so only a month. I've found that every bar can be either hit or miss on being busy. If it comes down to it, you can ask your cabbie where all has been busy. Everywhere in town should take you 5-10 minutes to get to so $10-15 bucks should be max for all rides.

+1 for Firestone Grill. Ate there last night, it was awesome. Great portion sizes!

Actually now that you mention it I would suggest Firestone for watching the game if you are by yourself. Great TV's for saddling up to the bar and watching the game by yourself PLUS it's stumbling distance from the Sandman as well!

I've never been to the firestone yet. I'll have to try it when I get back in town.

I already told Locke that I'm out of town, but where is the Lethbridge hospitality? Here we have a young Flames fan who we sort of "know" coming to our town, wanting a place to watch the game and no one has stepped up to show him the town?

While I find the Firestone to be a little much for my liking, and have always resorted to the Shark Club, if you're flying solo, not really the place to saddle up to, as someone else had said, it is mainly booths for two minimum. Firestone would be my choice of place for you too....

I also don't get the hate for Lethbridge, fiance has been there for two years, and after coming from Calgary and Medicine Hat (kill me now), I find Lethbridge to be a nice mixture of small town/big town. Easy to get around, hardly any traffic and always something to do it seems.

Good luck Locke, you'll be fine.

PS - who coaches or endorses soccer now a days anyways? ! Jebus, has baseball really fallen that far off the map in the last 10 years?

Alright then, I'm out. I'll be at the Firestone at 6 for the hockey game wearing my Breaking Benjamin Concert T-shirt if anyone wants to join me.
