Not too mention, Tim's coffee isn't even good. Sadly though, most people love their franchises when it comes to restaurants. Yeah sure they provide that level of comfort people want, but come on, go out and at least try some local stuff. Sure you won't like everything you taste but I guarantee you'll find something that kicks that pants off of anything a chain produces. ( In-and-Out burger is exempt from this as they are in the words of Doug from weeds: "independently owned by religious nuts that put biblical citations on the bottoms of the cups. They don't franchise and they use fresh ingredients. They cook with Jesus.")
Anyone else find it amusing/ironic that "religious nuts" name their restaurant In-and-Out ?
The ONLY reason why I go to Tim Hortons over McD most of the time is convenience. Going to University, there are 3 Tim Horton's on Campus with the closest McDonalds being 15 minutes (walking).
McDonalds coffee has awesome bang for your buck, and the lineups are rarely long. Only problem is a regular tastes like a triple triple. Not sure why one cream and sugar makes it turn all white and sugary.
I thought Van Houtte was supposed to be great (from what people were telling me) and then I actually had some. gross.
I try not to have Tim's donuts - too much damn sugar, but I do love the old fashioned one. I tried the candy bar supreme just for kicks but that was a little over the top.
In-N-Out burgers are awesome. I can't wait to go there on my next trip to the states.
My last school had Timmy's and Starbuck's - Timmy's obviously was cheaper, but cash only. But it also has this organic coffee shop in the student union building - which had way more decaf tea options anyway.
An office I worked in had a van Houtte machine and I learned the hard way. Only way I could drink that stuff was to get a mocha. Otherwise, I brought my own coffee.
Van Houtte is garbage. Sometimes I drink it at work because its free and i'm feeling cheap, but often I would rather just pay the 2 bucks at starbucks or whatever else.

Getting even more off topic, I decided to grab a Starbucks coffee the other day while I was at Safeway and the guy in front of me bought a frappa-somethin'-or-other on his Mastercard!
I know, pointless post, but I just really, really couldn't believe it!

Why? I throw everything on my credit card for the airline points. Sure it's not alot on a 4 dollar purchase but it adds up.

I buy all my coffees with my Mastercard. I hate breaking bills and carrying all that excess change in my pocket all day long. In fact, the only times I use bills are paying people back or when they don't accept CC
Yep. Timothy's mainly, which is pretty good coffee IMO. I know Van Houtte makes some K-cups as well (I know, I know, they suck) and a few others. Plus you can get tea and hot chocolate K-cups.

I do this every once in a while if I'm *really* craving something and I have nothing else. Plus, like someone else said... some of us get points. Which I always use towards Starbuck's cards.
I work for one of the top 5 banks in Canada. A company that boasted profits over a billion last quarter....
They buy us Maxwell House.
Next time you're signing your mortgage renewal and you see the thousands and thousands of dollars you're going to pay in interest, rest assured that a mere fraction of a fraction of that money is going to the coffee fund at your local branch.

What, do you work for VISA or something?
I use my CC for everything. I used to use my debit card but when that got stolen and swiped of $1000, I now use my CC for all of those purchases.
Cash is a hassel to carry around so I only use it when I'm out at the bars or other such facilities.
Plus I get 1% back on every purchase I make with my CC. Not a lot, but something. I think of it like I pay 4% tax while everyone else pays 5%.

Me: 1%? what did you get back there like $0.02?
You: Yeah, what did you get?

I'd take the Maxwell House over Van Poop any day.

The extra cost of credit card transactions is built into everything you buy whether you use cash or not, so you might as well use the CC for absolutely everything and get some of that money back in the form of points/Airmiles.
