This is the perfect place to complain about it.
I answered my own question re editing the plist. You need root access so you do need to jailbreak.

Well I am still peeved about that infraction, it never expires and I never gave any info on piracy at all. Totally bunk. Honestly I don't care who jailbreaks what, not affecting me at all. If it is legal then my bad I had the wrong impression by what I have read. Still think that infraction should be removed though, lol

So what's your point here, you got an infraction that you disagree with (maybe the point of your post was misinterpreted, maybe the line was different when the infraction was given, maybe the mod was being more cautious, maybe it was a mistake) so you want to derail this thread?
You've reported the thread, if you want to discuss the legality of something start a thread about it.

Ok fair enough and I reported that infraction and asked that it be reviewed and fixed and you guys just ignored me. Got to love that police mentality that one of your own can do no wrong huh? I thought Jailbreak was illegal, I was wrong. I will shut up now.

Or maybe it just got missed? Or maybe it was discussed and someone forgot to get back to you? Maybe we get tired of the attitude some people have and get discouraged and don't reply to everything.
"I didn't get the result I wanted." does NOT equal "Ignored".

WTF? Who said no one could do no wrong?? Let's look at what I said:

Yeah, that's exactly what I would say if I had a "police mentality" that one of "my own" can do no wrong.
Holy frack.. from getting an infraction you didn't like to talking about the "police mentality". Next time I'll think twice about giving you an infraction, jeez.

Well, this thread isn't really about how to jailbreak an iPhone... it's about which applications people are installing that they have to jailbreak in order to use.
Note that I did not (at any time) mention anything about acquiring or using stolen apps that people would otherwise have to pay for from iTunes. We have iPhone developers who are part of the CP community, and doing that would be pretty disrespectful to them.
Having said all of that, I would not have any problem with this thread being locked. I would not want to contribute in any way to CP being shut down, and I trust that the mods here aren't out to get me or something silly like that. If they say we can't talk about something, then so be it. I don't pay the bills.
Edit: How long until someone calls me a CP fanboy?

Don't pay for unlocking services. Unlocking is something you can do yourself in a minimum amount of time.
You should also wait until later today at least to upgrade to iOS4. I imagine jailbreak and unlock solutions will be released shortly. MY recommendation is to do a google search on iPhone os 4.0 unlock or iOS 4 unlock. Also, follow the iPhone Dev Team's blog. They're usually one of the first ones to generate jailbreak and unlock for firmware.

Hey, I am wondering if anyone here can tell me how long it takes their phone to connect to the 3g network. Mine takes at least 30 seconds, which seems way longer then it used to be.
I had been on a jailbroken 3.0, but recently upgraded to 3.1.3 jailbroken. I figured the jailbreak was what was causing the issue, so I restored in itunes and haven't jb'd. But still the same slow connection to 3g.
Just curious if this is just me, or if anyone else has this issue.

I am on the TELUS network and I have used my iPhone 3GS jailbroken and non-jailbroken and it connects to the 3G network instantly.

In many ways I don't like loading any more than that onto my phone because I also demand a stable device.

(I think I can post this here. Please let me know or delete if I am wrong)
Here is a short article about MyWi. Very cool. almost worth jailbreaking for if I had an iPad.

What network are you both on? Was there a carrier update that you didn't grab?

I'm pretty sure my 3gs on Fido/Rogers connects instantly to the 3g network. I've never noticed any problem.
3.1.2 jailbroken

I'm on Rogers. I don't know about a carrier update, I downloaded 3.1.3 the first time, and now did it again. I think it usually puts any carrier updates in then.
I notice it particularly with mail. I used to just go straight into it, and it checked quite quickly. Now it sits there saying 'connecting' for nearly 30', then goes through the normal 'checking for mail' process.

I don't think it's connecting to the network per say it's connecting to whatever data/service you are trying to access.
Yes, it is considerably slower lately to show iTunes search results, mail, The Score app etc, weather, text msgs etc.
Happens on Wifi and 3g.
