Fog @ Kennedy prompted mission control to skip Discovery's 1st landing time. Now targeting a 9:08a ET landing or CA

Oh well, I need to finish my essay anyway so it isn't like I was staying up for no reason.

So will it go at 9am then, or tomorrow?

2nd opportunity at Kennedy is at 9:08aET; alternately, shuttle could land at Edwards in Calif. at 9:01aET

different flight paths though

Well that sucks. If they follow the original pattern will it still be visible in the daylight?

The second flight path to Kennedy will pass over Vancouver. I'm guessing at about 6:30 AM, so I might check it out.

Yep, looks like we're SOL. 2nd attempt pattern for Kennedy passes over Vancouver then down into Montana.

There are a few more missions between now & September; maybe we'll get lucky.

I woke up an hour early to check this out. I should of checked CP beforehand. The cool thing is that I actually DID see the shuttle AND the ISS!!

Not knowing that the re-entry was delayed at the time, I was a bit disappointed that there was no fireball or plasma. The I was chatting with my neighbor (who was also out to see the shuttle) and, about 3-4 minutes later, another object appeared along the almost identical trajectory!! It turns out it was the International Space Station.

I'm still glad I woke up although I'm disappointed that Calgary isn't in the new flight path. Damn Vancouver gets the playoffs and now this!

I saw this thread last night and thought this would be super cool to check out. I jump into bed around 11 not reading the rest of this thread about the delays etc....

Get out of bed at 5am wake the wife up who wasn't impressed but I convinced her to come outside and watch it with me.

At exactly 5:13 I see a bright looking star moving quickly across the sky. Certainly wasn't what I was expecting or hoping for. Now reading this thread I realize that must have been the ISS.

Not quite as cool but not nearly as dissapointing now that I know what I saw.
