Power went out at Tony Roma's on 130th earlier... unfortunately, came back on and we got the bill.

Came home and all the power to my TV, receiver etc. wasn't working. Had to reset the grounded power chord thing I have. Works now, but lights in the house are flickering.

Like someone else, I've turned off my desktop computer and unplugged it as I don't have a surge protector on that!

Is it 2012? Will I survive? anyone have a big boat?

I think its an honest warning; some people may not be aware of how wet and slippery the snow has been.

Better to find out then, than on the deerfoot

It was going crazy up in the NW.... and I just took off my winter tires last Thursday.

Plus the power went out in my condo building for about an hour. Good thing for laptop batteries.

No power in the NE here since 6:30, the past hour has made me realize how much sense the following makes... I read it on Ruminations.com

When the power goes off it takes me a long time to realize that every single thing I own is powered by electricity. "No TV? That's ok, I'll just surf the internet. Oh, right. Damn. Well I guess I'll just go make myself some toast.... FUUUUUUU."

I was playing Bejeweled on Facebook just as the power went out. I had a pretty good score also.

I just wanted to say...

F all the crappy drivers out there. From the people who don't know that an intersection with no lights means 4-way stop to the others crawling along at 40km/hr on a road that is usually 80. FFFFUUUUUUUU

Still flickering power here in Strathcona (despite being on West edge of city and it hasn't been snowing for over an hour)

What an ignorant post.

Enmax is one of the top utility companies in North America when it comes to reliability. You lost power for 8 minutes in a monsoon and you're whining like a little b*tch.

Wow, that was certainly a venomous post, do you work for Enmax?

Up here in Saddleridge the power went out twice for about an half hour each time. Now it seems ok. We are still getting the odd flicker, but much better then it was before.

There were probably dudes working the power system during that storm to keep the energy flowing, kinda the forgotten group when it comes to keeping the city running. They deserve to be thanked, even when the power goes out.

We had the power go out at Mt. Royal twice between 5 and 6 (not sure of exact times) but only for a couple of seconds each time. I think the projector and instructors computer must be on a different power source though, because they are the only things in the classroom that didn't turn off.

The lights flickered pretty much all evening, but slowed down towards the end of the night.

Futureshop in Northland had no power, everything had to be paid for at customer service with hand written reciepts. I think they even had those old fashioned credit card swipers.
