Won't kill you guys to admit he made a big save. No one is going to come to your house and strip you of your Flames fan status.
I'm glad Lou made the save, don't get me wrong. He's for team canada and I'm cheering for him until tomorrow.

But look at the angle of that puck, it did look like it was going wide if it went straight through (OPs post shows it). Still a great save but I was wondering why demitra shot it wide like that, and if it's because it ticked off a D's stick then that explains it.

Didn't know it was a save until reading this, great save!
Horrible first goal, so glad he could redeem himself and not let Canada down.

Destiny doesn't have to win four straight elimination games

. . . but Team Canada does.

I don't think that there should be any complaints about Luongo, given that he's gone 3-0 in elimination games so far at this Olympics. No other goaltender has matched that record in this tournament yet.

Here's hoping that Canada plays another "gorillas out of a cage" game tomorrow and Miller doesn't have an opportunity to equal Luongo's record tomorrow.

Luongo is still a grease ball.

TSN just showed the hand shakes after the game, and explained that Demitra told Luongo that he saved it with his glove.

I think I'll go with the player who shot the puck and was 2 feet in front of Luongo to see it happen, over a select group of Flames fans that are on a mission to discredit Luongo on everything he does in this tournament.

I've put the NHL rivalry aside...but both of our goalies make me nervous. I don't trust either one of them. It's not like when Kipper is in net and you just KNOW he's not gonna let anything in......well, most of the time!

Honestly, I don't really care too much (and I'm saying this as a Canucks fan). All that matters is the final score tomorrow.

If the score is 8-7, so be it. I'm just going to be happy.

Exactly! Luongo made the game breaking save, when he needed to. For once in his life, he has won a big game. Good for him. Lets hope he can be solid in the final.

To be honest, I haven't felt that way about Kipper since the '06 season, but I hear ya. Luongo hasn't really been overly tested, but over-all I've been kind of disappointed in his play. I didn't know he let in Osgood Specials like that first goal against Slovakia that turned the momentum of the game around. In the summer I remember making a brief "Rank the NHL Goalies" thread, where I named Luongo king of the NHL netminders. I don't feel this way anymore. I dunno, he's just not what I've seen him be in the past this year. I really don't know what to expect of him today, hopefully he comes up huge.

That said, I hate the Canucks as much as the next Flames fan, but I can't believe some people are saying he didn't make that save. I've seen the replay a dozen times and I really don't see how it was anything other than off his glove. I know its a rivalry, but that's just ridiculous, talk about bias getting in the way of actual judgement.

I would suggest, if he did save it, you know a puck going wide anyways, he salvaged a game that he almost blew...but alas the puck was going wide and there is no strong evidence to suggest as save. But hey i have never seen a goalie get more credit for saves he never made then Luongo.
