Get well FF. If any of those nurses getcha down, I'm sure you can make their jobs a little bit harder. Mind you, they do control the pain medication. So, maybe see how it goes.
Heal quickly, and enjoy Maher's soothing voice. Maybe he'll only make it a months recovery?

Yikes. Must have been an awkward fall (I'd assume falling foward judging by Resolute's picture...).
Can't say much (Have never broken such a large bone...let alone two at once). Complain to the lazy a**es who can't take care of their sidewalk, get well soon, and cheer extra hard for Team Canada from inside the hospital.
I busted my tibia in the summer before grade 10 at SAIT's basketball camp. It went on to get mis-diagnosed by their on-staff doctors, and wrote it off as a bad sprain...about 3 weeks later I went to my doctor, and within moments he could tell it was broken/fractured w/e, but it had started to heal in a decent enough matter, but that I'd have to rehab my leg to great extents if I ever wanted to play sports in the manner I had...
...months of rehab later, my leg was never back to where it was - and still isn't. So, get well soon FireFly, and make sure you take all the steps you need to ensure your leg gets back to where it was prior to the break.
Ugh. I haven't looked in a mirror since 5pm Tuesday and I can just tell how ugly/greasy I am now. I itch all over and can't sleep. The pain is still there. This sucks. On a more positive, the night nurse is actually good and took some of my gauze and stuff. She re-wrapped me and everything. Now only problem is that i'm leaking through the new gauze. And I can't sleep. And I don't stop itching.

Yeesh...sounds like a rough go of things girl...hope all gets better real soon, and just ask for more meds if you are still hurting, they really shouldnt be allowing you to be in enough pain that it keeps you from resting/sleeping properly. (just went through broken ribs so i can commiserate)
Anyhow...stay positive and take comfort that canada has righted the hockey ship!

What kind of meds are you on?
I broke my femur years ago, and the meds were my best friends. Just curious about what they give out these days and if they work.
