Your buddy is suppose to take those grenades for you, as you should take them for your wingman. Not like he had to sleep with her if she was a sea donkey just occupy her with cream puffs and talking, whatever will keep her busy from c---blocking your buddy.

This sounds about right. Especially when you consider the quality of the wingman in question. Something tells me he's not in a position to be picky.

No kidding, f*** I hate guys like that! Was out in Montreal with a couple buddies a few years back who pulled the same crap on me. Met a chick at a club there, the next night she wanted to "hang out", before me and the boys left for NYC the next day and out of her life forever. My buddies are originally from Montreal, I didn't know the area at all so I was relying on them. Apparently she lived far from where we were staying and we had to leave early the next morning, but she was hot! Gym instructor at a YMCA there, and she was French(even her name made my pants tight: Desiree). And my buddy wouldn't give me a lift to go meet up with her! He said he was tired. Like c'mon man, be a buddy. I'm still a little pissed about that.
Also, there is nothing wrong with Top Gun, every scene is better than the one before it and it is the greatest movie of all time.

The best "wingmen" by FAR are girls. Not sure if this is an option for you, but find yourself a group of cool chicks who like to have fun and make them part of your crew. Targets are much more likely to be receptive when you have women with you.

Plus you can always nail the girls in your group in a pinch.
Your wingman was out of the picture from the beginning of that story.
A wingmans job is to ease the introduction and initial pleasantries and run interference on any potential roadblocks. From the sounds of it that was accomplished all on your own, your friend was just along for the ride. A wingmas job does NOT involve pulling the trigger for you, that's your job.
Disagree, the wing definitely doesn't pull the trigger but he helps take away the distraction and C-blocks so you can pull it.
In this situation his job was to join the group, keep the mood good and keep the other girls entertained when necessary.
If the OP just met these girls, letting his friend go while he tries to go play beer pong with 3 girls likely wouldn't work very well. The other 2 would get bored, they'd think he's a little strange for not having any friends to come out, and he won't be able to isolate the girl he wants enough to make anything happen.
