How can any Canadian defend Kesler is what I would like to know.
A rat with a rat comment.
Just in case there are some overly sensative.
Ken Linesman ex dirty Flyer and Oiler's play and comments earned him the nickname as "the Rat" Kesler reminds me of Linesmans dirty style.

I think that fact that Kelser's comments are being taken as a slam on our country is ridiculous
He was talking about how he felt about the players, not our country as a whole. There is a fine line between patriotism and ignorance. Saying Kelser hates Canada because he is not a fan of the players on our team considering the circumstances is pretty ridiculous.
Team USA is to Team Canada what The Canucks are to The Flames. The Fans of the Calgary flames hate Canucks fans and vise versa. Does this mean a poster like "Canuck Hater" hates Canadians? Not at all. Thinking otherwise is pretty ignorant imo

no i would assume Canuck Hater hates Canucks as in Vancouver Canucks. But
As for that slimey Kesler he has made other comments back leading into the Canada Jr world tournement about Canadian players that are of the same contempt.
Kesler is being Kesler. Just like Burrows, Rutuu, Cooke and Avery. Knobs.

Not so very long ago, the US roster was mocked, because supposedly only Miller, Parise, Kane and Stasny would've been good enough to make Team Canada.
Now, some are reduced to this?

Spoken like a true silver medalist.
I hope Mr. Kessler knows the feeling is mutual.
He doesn't seem like he's cut out for the championship level in hockey.
Perhaps the next Olympics... the summer ones would be a good choice for him and his unparalleled penchant for diving.

Maybe we watched a different game but I thought Kesler was outstanding today and played great the entire tournament. Yes he has a big mouth but he NEVER takes a night off.

The guy is a D-bag. End of story. I don't care how good he did or didn't play.
He made those comments about Canada, and stood there with tears as they put the silver medal around his neck just in time to watch us get our gold medals.
Poetic justice.

The best shot today was when it had Kesler standing there while the ladies with the Gold medals walked right by him and he just watched them go by.

Seems to me hundreds of athletes competed in these Olympics without expressing hate for another country's athletes.
I didn't make the comments or the thread. Just pointing out it brought a smile to my face to see him tear'd up after making those comments earlier on.

Okay that's fair. I just see it as an American playing a sport that Canadians have claimed as their own forever now and him having to hear over and over how the US players aren't as good because of where they are born. We Canadians do have an arrogance when it comes to hockey.

Exactly. Kesler talks a lot but he backs most of it up. He was probably the best American tonight.
Burrows (a Canadian) is a MUCH bigger rat than Kesler.
I'll take Kesler on my team for a playoff run, any day.

Call it arrogance all you want, I call it stating facts.
And now Kessler can stew over it a bit more while wearing his Silver medal.

How even Canuck fans can even defend him after his stupid comments today I have no idea. Canadians will fold? What a little bugger.

Kesler is a complete and utter ######, that being said he is a excellent hockey player and put his money where his mouth was this whole tournament and played very well today.
It annoys me to no end that we have to face him 6 times a year, not just because he's a self absorbed prick, but because he's the type of player that helps a team win championships.
So yes, while I think he's a POS personally with about as much tact as a 5 year old playing battleship for the first time, I actually have a lot of respect for him as a talented hockey player who definately makes the Canucks a more worthy opponent for our glorious Flames. Just my take anyways, and by that I mean if we had him under contract for the same price Vancouver does I'd be a very happy man.

I think Kesler is a very effective hockey player, but I don't think his comments were necessary and I was glad to see him and Patrick "I love to play Luongo" Kane getting silver and not gold. Both those guys went out of their way to say comments about Canada and it makes the win that much better.
