Frankly I thought it sucked and if you were watching it and you were over the age of 14, you were probably bored as hell and laughing at the terrible special effects and the atrocious acting.

If I was a movie review critic I would have given it two thumbs down.
Maybe, but I enjoyed Frankenhooker so...

Its a satire. Like the Onion news except a space soldier movie.

Fortunatley, 32 out of 53 critics disagree with you, according to Rotten Tomatoes.

It sucked is why it didn't do well... but that's my opinion

I agree. When I watched it I loved the shower scene but was always disappointed that the only boobs I got to see were hers.

In #1 I wanted to see hers

and in #3 i wanted to see hers

Cant wait for the franchise to come out with another cheesy sequel.

I swear, I dont know why franchises would let their original movies get tarnished by low budget sequels

I was wondering why everyone in Argentina was speaking with an American accent?

Denise Richards was so hot back then.

Because it's the 23rd century and presumably we have become somewhere between a type 2 and type 3 civilization. (The fact that we can travel to distant parts of the galaxy, but do not yet control the entire galaxy would put us between a type 2 and type 3)

Many scientists propose that in order to become a type 1 civilization (which we are decently close to becoming) the planet would basically need to have one language, one religion, one government etc, which is what is described in the movie.

Basically, if you want to be a solar or galactic civilization, you need to throw away your cultural differences and unite as one group. It's not likely in the future you would have space ships and fleets belonging to one certain nation, ie US Fleet, Chinese Fleet etc, rather they would most likely belong to an "Earth" fleet, where there is a common language and culture.

I bet the Chinese fleet would still crash into each other.

Nah, they'd be driving at impulse power in the hyperspace lanes while their left signal light was accidentilly left on.
