Snow Patrol is a band I've really gotten into the last week or so. 'Run' and 'Chocolate' are two pretty good songs. Not real heavy, but pretty catchy.
I think 'How to Be Dead' is the best song from that album.

Muse - Time is Running Out. I don't think I've ever put this song on and not had everybody in the room tapping their foot or whatever. And with Muse, it only gets better from there..
Just heard it, it is a pretty good tune.

Eisley -- Telescope Eyes

Great song. Especially if you like female singers in rock/indie bands. Let me know if you what you think if you listen to it.

And the wild screaming in the background. That is truly an awesome song.

Song of Sorrow is good too. In fact anything by the Pogues is nothing short of awesome.

Was waiting for somebody to bring some hip hop into this thread...

Don't like Atmosphere that much, but that track was pretty good. Deltron 3030 is good stuff as well, but I don't know if that would convert somebody who listens to Pink Floyd or Elvis Costello. :P

Some of my picks:

CKY - Flesh Into Gear or Attached At The Hip
Blue States - Diamente
Aqualung - Strange And Beautiful
Sigur Ros - Staralfur (Life Aquatic fans will know this one)

A little hip hop influence:

Diplo - Summer's Gonna Hurt You
RJD2 - Ghostwriter or Smoke And Mirrors
Land Of The Loops - Multi Family Garage Sale
Tommy Tee - Aerosoul

And some straight up hip hop:

Foreign Exchange - Happiness or Nic's Groove
Jurassic 5 - Concrete Schoolyard or Jayou
The Roots - Star or What They Do
Sound Providers - No Time or For Old Time's Sake

Don't know if those are convert people either, but they might...give them a try...

Great thread, btw...

Great pick.

Name ONE song that if someone listens to they will become a fan of the band/group.

I have to say

Requiem for a Dream: OST, Clint Mansell & Kronos Quartet

Listen to this song and you will be amazed how you can like classical music.

next
Elliott Smith - 2:45am
David Gray - Be Mine

The Trews - Fleeting Trust

I know they've been on the radio a lot, and being from Antigonish is another strike against them, but these guys are awesome live. Their entire CD is good but in concert they're even better. It's refreshing to see bands that aren't engineered in the studio and really seem to enjoy what they're doing. They could be on the stage for a couple hours and you wouldn't notice becuase there aren't any dead spots. The weird guitar sounds in Fleeting Trust really demonstrate their skill and creativity. He seems to strum the guitar with it muted and then turns the sound on/off to make the "nah nah nah naaaah" noise. Really trippy to watch...
