and while you're nit picking at wording, what's working at a "back"?

Oh wow you are a special one. I guess you have never misspelled a word on the internetz, EVER!
Lets get back on topic which is why I edited my post because it's just not worth it.

I guess you've never misinterpreted the reading of text before either. But hey, if you're going freak out over stuff like that, I thought I'd point out spelling mistakes because I'm just curious why someone would say they worked at a "back" for months years? How would that ever make sense?
btw, nice "nm" cover up

It's dangerous to be giving improper banking advice based on "maybes" and "I think"

I love how people like to turn CP into a giant pissing match. I'm honestly trying to help out the OP to the best of my knowledge. I don't see any harm in that at all. Maybe you didn't understand what i meant by "months years back", but to clarify, I worked at BMO between July 2006 to September 2006. I remember being specifically told that if I was to cash a cheque for a customer, they had to have enough money in any of their accounts to cover the cheque if it bounced. So for example, a guy walks in with a cheque for $2000 and wanted to get cash for it right away. He has to have $2000 in his chequing, savings or credit card available in order for me to give him his cash right away.
From this, I drew a conclusion that the OP might be in trouble if he assumed that moving his money to another account might solve his problem. There's no harm in him trying to do his own research in order to not get screwed over.

I explained in the post you quoted why I edited. But I see you can't let it go and want to derail the thread even further.

actually, you didnt, but nice cover up edit on that one as well.
but you're right, let's not derail the thread even further. I dont know how misreading two words became such an issue in the first place
narbeZ, it's good that you contacted the right people immediately. You never want to wait with this kinda stuff since there's no gaurentee when the funds could be taken out of your account. The people at the banks, creditcard companies and Paypal are pretty understanding with this stuff

I know you're trying to help, but you wouldnt want to be the guy indirectly responsible for having the op not only to pull out funds of his account which is directly linked to his paypal, but all his other accounts and have a hold on his credit card when he doesnt need to.
Im just curious though, when a customer does want to cash their cheque, do you ever put a hold on the equvilent amount of the cheque on their account? what's to prevent someone to cash their cheque, and clear out all their account/credit cards before the cheque is fully cleared and processed?

I know that at my FI you sign an agreement stating that if one account becomes overdrawn by way of an AFT (automtic funds transfer) it will cover the overdrawn portion with monies from other accounts (like your savings to cover the chequing). I would suggest strongly that you double check your account agreement or your FI might do the same and you might be out the $400 anyways.
You should call your FI and initiate a stop payment immediately.

Isn't the point of this entire incident that a person should not trust the internet?
So, don't trust the advice that you are getting here. Talk with Paypal and your bank to straighten all of this out.

I felt the peer pressure from the people who were crying a river. But now I am back to not really caring what they think.

UPDATE: So I pulled up my account today and even though I emptied my chequing account, a mysterious amount was pulled from my savings and im guessing my visa was charged. So it looks like the money is indeed gone.
Now, the seller emailed me saying and I quote "already shipped" So i sent him a reply asking for a reference/tracking number in which he said "there s none".
I phoned fed ex and they said they had no record of anyone shipping a package out from QC to my address. She said if he indeed did sent it Saturday it would have been here today.
So I emailed him again and am awaiting for a response. His last 2 responses have been under 3 words. To that I say is it because of his lack of english, or embarrassed to come out about his scam?
Dispute with paypal is still open, not sure what to do now but wait.

narbeZ, I hope you get your cash back. You're brave for posting this as there will be ######bags calling you an idiot. By posting this, you may have prevented others from getting scammed too.
I hope others won't be scared to post something similar like this in the future because of the ######'s and their macho replies

This is the type of thing that would only happen to a totally ######less un-macho guy. Shame on you!
