I was stunned by how different it was in the South from the North. I've been living out east for the last 5 years and completely forgot how different the weather can be from mile to mile in Calgary.
It's called a PVR young Skywalker - that way I can accomodate Mrs. Impaler's wish for some pho and still watch the game.

I remember about 10 yrs back when the North was flooded by a hail/ice storm during the summer. The South... nothing.

Yeah, looks like that westerly flow didn't develop, or it missed us. Hard to tell, the EC radar in Strathmore is down. Hopefully the lack of warmth today will reduce the amount of icing.

And just like that, the temperature down in the deep south is below zero again. Lots of winds out of the north, and some snowflakes.

It is Snowing very heavy right now in strathmore. It is very windy and I guess the roads are pretty bad.

Might be a long commute home for me.

Snowing a fair bit in the south now. I'm going to leave work early to try and avoid the impending disaster.

Edit: Heavy snow now, accumulating quickly. I don't think it was warm long enough to cause massive ice buildup, but it's going to suck. I'm leaving at 4:00, damn the rules.

I'm going to hang around downtown to watch the Flames game. There's no way I'll try driving home in rush hour....the roads were clear this morning and people couldn't even drive properly.

Looks like the road surface is just above zero, because the snow is all slushy. Soon it will freeze, and that's bad. One would hope the transportation managers mentioned in the thread title have seen this coming (since we all did) and have gotten the plows / sanders out early or something.

To be honest its kinda hard to see anything coming when the Strathmore radar is constantly down.

Man up
Weather should not affect your ability to BBQ.

Yeah - the Salmon will be done in the oven this evening. Fairweather BBQ-er? Yes I am.
