I played a Cup Final round so far.
Phaneuf kept getting booed after I injured one of their players. I really like that feature.
I did a Be a Pro by draft as well (like in the demo). Despite getting 4 goals and 2 assists, I only moved up 2 spots or so.
I'm not a huge fan of the hardcore passing. But thats easily fixed it seems.

jobo gets the game early as he is a EA forum mod and was a beta tester at the EA event this year. so thats how he got it. EA mailed it to him.

- Open ice hits are going to be tougher since checking is manual.
- Positioning is key. Oh boy if your team is doing bad positioning against a team that knows how to do good positioning, your gonna have a long game.
- Slot cross crease passes aren't going to be easy to pull off. With the D AI of breaking up passes along with pass aim being harder a bit, the effect of that being successful is going to drop.
- Report card shows up each period. So you know if you have to step up aspects of your game.
- Couldn't test voice chat all that much since players on my team didn't feel like talking much. So don't know much about quality so far.

that makes me super happy as i always hated the 2 player teams that would only play other 2 player teams... but wonder how that will go over with most people?!!??

I am extremely pleased. I can't tell you how annoying it was to see the lobby have 8 games open, but having to go through 5 of them, because there ALL 2vs1.
How stupid are these people? It is team play, how is 2 vs 1 team play? So glad EA fixed this. Haven't heard anything yet, but I hope there is no replays online anymore, but I doubt it.

Sounds good to me. IMO, if you're a 2 man team, just OTP it.

Futureshop and Bestbuy are probably best bets. Actually is NHL 10, 2k10 a large enough seller to open at midnight?

I'm not sure if we'll be getting a midnight opening from futureshop but on the EA website, Toronto and Vancouver are.
'Be the first to receive EA SPORTS NHL 10 at “Midnight Madness” launch parties at Toronto and Vancouver Future Shop locations.
The festivities start the night of September 14, and you can pick up your copy of NHL 10 at midnight on September 15th. NHL legend Wendel Clark and current Leafs’ defenceman Ian White will be greeting fans and signing autographs in Toronto, while Canuck legend Trevor Linden will take the lead in Vancouver. Come to meet the athletes and play NHL 10 in a demo presented by Microsoft hours before the midnight release.'

I bought my pre-order from Shawnessy Wal-Mart. They are open tonight until midnight. I wonder if they will have the game available right when they close.

Too bad there's no Walmart special like with Batman: AA forcing the prices down everywhere. I rather like paying $38 for a new release. I wonder if I was to trade in all my PS2 + Gamecube + Xbox stuff what I would get for it.

Can't wait to pick up my copy tomorrow. I've got to be the only person in Jacksonville, Florida to preorder this game.

I find it frustrating the only way to get a few game trial with the NHL club in Be a Pro is if you choose the draft route. As a result, to play for the Flames you're required to start on the bottom line in the minors like last season.
Despite having 70 points in 14 games, I'm still only on the 2nd line.
