Not only that, but that they're chasing after him in order to follow him around. That made me laugh.

Ya I love how Russell is turning in to a favorite after them trying to make him the villain in the previews for so long
I wonder how they are going to change the idol though in the future, everyone watching this season is just going to do the same thing Russell is now and the idols will be found too quickly and easily

Why is the idol put back into play? Now the rest of the game will be a game of hide and seek looking for the idol. That was the strategy of playing the idol. You only got to use it once and you had to figure out when the best time for that would be.

The idol continually coming back into play is annoying, for sure. That being said, last night's episode was awesome. I spent the whole hour anticipating the Galu's faces when Russel played the idol and they did not disappoint. Russel is totally going to win.

I can't see Russel winning, he was allready a huge target and he will be even a bigger target next week, but last nights episode was classic.
The person that pisses me off the most is Laura, it would have been alot more classic if she didn't win immunity.
Erics reaction was priceless from the jury.

Actually ... the whole bringing the idol back into play thing could make for quite a few twists.
Whoever has it just has to declare that they have it and it's more or less a guaranteed that they'll not be voted for. They can however flip it to someone post vote to gain numerical power.
There's a lot of scenarios out there.

I've been watching the episodes online this season, casually following Russell to see how he does. Last episode was one of the best Survivor's I've ever seen. What a great twist,

this season has really turned around for me. I thought it was a terrible start but the last few episodes have been getting better and better.
I can actually say I'm really looking forward to next week.

I honestly think, if Russell's side comes out on top next week, he's got it made. All of the people on his side - to this point - seem to be following him along like sheep. He's going to be around for a long while I think.

Great episode. Mrs. Bownesian and I have been to the natural water slide they used for the reward challenge. It's a really neat place that is a 5 minute walk from a parking lot and is pretty terrifying when you're sitting on the top about to slide down on moss covered rocks.

Looks like sliding down those rocks would not be comfortable but everyone seemed to be having fun.

It was slippery and pretty smooth as I recall (it was a few years back). I remember being more afraid of slipping back and smoking my head than anything else.
I've been trying to think about what else would make a good reward destination there... we went to a place that had a freshwater spring that came up in a couple of caves connected by an underwater swimthrough. Other than that, Samoa was an island of trees and churches, churches, and more churches. I'll know that Survivor is super-fake if they do one of those see-the-locals rewards and there aren't churches from at least two different denominations in town.

ya I think Russell can at best finish 2nd or 3rd depending on how many are in the final this year, I think Jeff said it was going to be 3
I think if they somehow get through next week and the foa foa get to the end that Natalie will probly win

Really? I think if Russell is in the finals, anyone voting for anyone other than him would be a complete joke. Who else is playing the way he is? Ah well - we'll all find out soon enough!

Another pretty good episode tonight. After getting the clue to the idol Russel goes out looking for it and manages to shake dufus to go right back to where he was and gets it. Eventually the one Galu guy realizes his team is a bunch of dimwits (of course their startegy to offer him up as a sacrifice to Foa Foa didn't help) and pulls the switch in the re-vote. Had to love Erik's reaction in the jury. Now they have a real game to be played.

First episode I watched in a while and wow, Russell is one sneaky player. Was it Eric who they decided to lump the votes on him to save Laura?

I would really have liked to have watched this episode with Laura or that Dave guy and watch their reaction when Russell gets the idol again.
