According to Spotify I'm in the top .5% of Oasis listeners which confirms my longtime theory that I am North America's biggest Oasis fan. I understand why they're not everyone's cup of tea, but for some reason I love it right from Liam's mostly sh**ty voice to their hilariously bad attitudes and petty feuds. It's just all very rock and roll.
Their hits are great. Wonderwall gets shade from overplay, but it's a classic. As are Don't Look Back In Anger, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Supersonic, and Champagne Supernova. She's Electric, The Hindu Times, Lyla, Morning Glory, Some Might Say, Roll With It, Rock n' Roll Star, Stand By Me, all great.
But they have a great list of lesser known bangers that challenge their top hits as far as awesomeness goes. If you're looking to try out some Oasis that isn't on the radio I recommend:
Go Let it Out
D'You Know What I Mean?
Gas Panic!
Guess God Thinks I'm Abel
The Importance of Being Idle
F***in in The Bushes
Hung in a Bad Place
Fade In-Out
Columbia
Force of Nature
She Is Love
My Big Mouth
Don't Go Away
Little By Little
Let There Be Love
Bag It Up
Half The World Away
Turn Up The Sun
All Around The World
Big fan. Excited for the reunion. I'm sure it'll implode.
Pssssst Sliver this is how it is done

I used to be a big fan. One of their songs was my favorite. Then I saw them live in Calgary and they completely ruined it. They were absolute #### during the show and you could tell something was off and they had zero desire to perform. F them

That's interesting.
Some bands I like are not very good live or substance abuse deteriorates their sharpness live but it doesn't affect how much I like the songs at the end of the day because it was expected.
But with Oasis I could see it being a no ####s given scenario from a UK band on a western Canada leg of a tour. I could see why they wouldn't care to put on a good show. Must have been bad to tarnish your fandom.
Total controversial take, but most live bands just butcher their songs at concerts. I don't go to concerts anymore because of how expensive they are these days, but back in the day when you could see a concert for <$50, they'd reinvest that money in pyro and making it a spectacle so you could take away from them butchering their own songs. These days concerts are a ridiculous price, and little of that money goes into the atmosphere - it's all about maximizing revenues. If I go to a show I couldn't care less how a guy is fingering that guitar or hitting those drums. I just want to be entertained and be immersed in cool visuals all around me with good acoustics to go with it. Just not at the $500 price tag.

I think it was Noel that went a little viral in Calgary when they stopped here because he did a phone interview for a UK publication from his Calgary hotel and dunked on us as a dreary, crappy little city in the middle of nowhere and how it was depressing to be here at this point in the tour, or something like that
The fans were amazing for that show, really pumped and loud, but the band gave zero ****s as they didn't want to be touring western Canada.
One of the better shows I've been too, saw them at Ann Arbor Michigan, the opening band was Jet. Great night both bands were amazing. Summer night, outdoor arena.

Don't think that will happen, even though Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher are good mates now (and probably were back then TBH). I saw Blur at the second weekend of Coachella this year and they basically told the crowd it would be their last concert together (we'll see).
But I do think Blur's wildly successful Wembley dates last summer probably played into this Oasis reunion coming together.

Croke Park ideally. UK and Ireland are going to be insane when this actually happens
It has to be Aviva, doesn't it? I'm sure they'll go for the biggest venue in Dublin.
I saw Oasis in Spain in July 2009, a month before they broke up. I seem to recall Liam Gallagher stormed offstage towards the end and didn't return. But the crowd was loving it as it was so in-brand.
I saw Liam perform again a couple years ago in Singapore and the most notable thing about that performance was that for the whole show he wore a 3/4 length parka in 30 degree tropical humidity.
Croke Park can hold 80,000+ people comfortably. The Aviva can only hold 50k. I suspect they'll add at least one more show in Dublin, maybe even two.
Blur and Oasis will never play together, outside of a charity concert or something. They simply don't need to. Both bands can sell enough tickets on their own.

Oh really? If that's so, then I stand corrected. Aviva looks huge and dominates the central Dublin skyline but maybe that's just because it's shiny and new. I saw U2 at Croke Park way back when, I guess it must have been big I just don't really recall.

If you saw one of the same gigs as me it was either Zooropa not in CP but at the RDS showgrounds in 2003 or Joshua Tree (87) in the the OLD Croke before it was completely redeveloped bit by bit starting in 93.
Completely different beast now.
Nearly 100% certain given the August dates Croke Park will host the gigs.
Calling it now. Band called Kneecap will be one of the backing bands.
