I think I read that Matty C has no access to computers for a few weeks?

I have some bad news. I have moved and may be out of internet for a while. I think its best if I drop out of this draft while its still early. Sorry team, have fun!

Matty C can catch-up when he has internet again.

If I Can't Change Your Mind - Sugar (Bob Mould)

This is one of my favorite songs to play - great on acoustic - capo on third fret. I think Train covered this song.

Father and Son by Cat Stevens
This is an easier one, but it's a great song.

Apparitions - Matthew Good

I couldn't find a lessons video, but this live version is just about as good (although I'm not a big fan of the vocals on this version):

Alright, next I'm going to go with "don't follow" by Alice in Chains. You guys will love this one. It's just simple open chords, but the correct picking is essential, it makes the song.

It's also a very haunting song now, considering the death of Layne Staley...

from wikipedia

Although Alice in Chains never officially disbanded, Staley became a recluse, rarely leaving his Seattle condominium following the death of his ex-fiancée Demri Parrott in 1996, due to bacterial endocarditis.[20] "Drugs worked for me for years", Staley told Rolling Stone in 1996, "and now they're turning against me, now I'm walking through hell".[

After a decade of battling drug addiction, Layne Staley was found dead in his condominium on April 19, 2002. An autopsy revealed Staley died from a mixture of heroin and cocaine 14 days previously. In his last interview, which was given months before his death, Staley admitted, "I know I'm near death, I did crack and heroin for years. I never wanted to end my life this way

This is also a great song if you want to attempt singing while playing guitar. I suggest giving that a try, if you've never attempted it before.

There is also some great harmonica work as well.

Alice in Chains definently produced some great stuff, just always thought that their choruses are a little overdone at times. I agree, this is a good one to improve your singing and playing guitar at the same time---ability.

In following the same vein as Dont Follow ill take You Never Wash Up After Yourself, another obscure B-side by Radiohead (sorry). Uses simple chord and string picking technique, and therefore is great to advance your ability to sing and play at the same time. Enjoy.

Couldnt find any tutorials, but this might help....

Okay! Back after a crappy day at work. Anyways, I'll take Wheat Kings by the one and only Tragically Hip.

It looks way better if you go to this link...kinda hard to follow on CP.

Bob Marley - Redemption Song

This is not a difficult song, but it is well-known, and easy enough to sing along with. I more or less play it like this:

http://www.tabcrawler.com/search.php...ype=guitar+tab

Old pirates, yes, they rob i;
Sold I to the merchant ships,
Minutes after they took i
From the bottomless pit.
But my hand was made strong
By the and of the almighty.
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly.
Wont you help to sing
These songs of freedom? -
cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look? ooh!
Some say its just a part of it:
Weve got to fulfil de book.

Wont you help to sing
These songs of freedom? -
cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.
---
/guitar break/
---
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our mind.
Wo! have no fear for atomic energy,
cause none of them-a can-a stop-a the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look?
Yes, some say its just a part of it:
Weve got to fulfil de book.
Wont you help to sing
Dese songs of freedom? -
cause all I ever had:
Redemption songs -
All I ever had:
Redemption songs:
These songs of freedom,
Songs of freedom.
