And that's with a 35' fifth wheel in the driveway as well (beside the house).

Seems like you have so many cars that you can't even keep count.

Reading this thread reminds me of some of the neighbours I had over the 20 year period I lived in Calgary ... and makes me really glad I got the hell out of Dodge.

On a related note, this spring we cleaned up my Grandfather's house after he was moved to the Col. Belcher. We found a drawer in the basement that had probably 30 tennis and ball hockey balls in it. We put the balls into a bag and put it in the hockey net that was at the end of the cul-de-sac.

Miserable SOB.

That's something that varies a lot from one neighborhood to another. I've lived places where people think you're a jerk if you park within 5 feet of them, and I've lived other places where people think you're a jerk if you leave more than 2 or 3 feet on either side of your car, because there won't be enough space for everyone if people don't pack in. It's just the type of thing where you have to hope that people are considerate enough to park appropriately given the situation.

Where do you live? I wouldn't mind trying out this parking spot (1.5 metres from your driveway of course).

You all can come park in froont of my house. We're on a corner and have 40' on the side of the house and 140' on the front. Hopefully people won't have to park within 5' of my driveway. Strangely enough, as many others have said, whenever our neighbours across the street have get-togethers, the visitors always seem to park in front of our house even though the other side of the street is usually bare. Because of the way people come in, they are almost always doing a u-turn to park in front of our place too. We only ever had an issue once with that type of thing where a person parked with the nose of their car right at the edge of our driveway. The problem is that our driveway is quite narrow, and along the entire length of the other side is a 5 foot high fence that effectively makes backing out of our driveaway a blind hope and a prayer situation at the best of times because what traffic there is on our street mostly comes from that direction. To have a car parked right at the edge of the dirveway makes it a nightmare because you then have to back out almoist all the way into the street before you can crank the wheel around to pull away. Since we didn't know who they were and weren't sure who they were visiting, we just let it slide.

On the other hand, for some reason, city works drivers like to idle their trucks directly in front of my driveway in the middle of the day if they are in the neighbourhood. There's been a few times when I've come home for 'lunch' and had to honk my horn to get some city pickup truck, water truck, or other vehicle out of my way so I could pull into my own driveway.
