I have confirmation numbers for both Air Canada and Spanair and they both check out right now. Gonna call AC right now and see what the deal is.
Just got off phone with AC rep and he says "Everything looks fine to me"

Where did you get the AC confirmation number from?

Agreed. So who gave you this information from "Austin" at Travelocity? So far he's the only one to cast significant doubt on this. Is he one of you 14 person posse you're trying to get to Menorca?

No, it was someone from the Facebook group. He doesn't really have a reason to lie. "Austin" was in quotes because he was talking to someone outsourced from India who claimed that was his name.

Should be in your confirmation e-mail, it's kind of buried half way down under 'Flight 1'.

It's on my travelocity confirmation.
From what I've seen i'm the only one with the AC confrimation and the Spanair confirmation, possibly because i am on a different flight(AC rather then Spanair) from Calgary to Toronto then the rest of the guys on the 7th then join up with them there. Either way both spanair and AC confirmations show the same itinerary.

I called Travelocity this morning, and talked to a guy who gave me the ticket numbers over the phone (13 digit 680 number), and also said he had the gates confirmed. He said it's all good, and confirmed with the airline.
My other booking with Orbitz hasn't been cancelled either, and I have the ticket number for that flight as well.
I can't see them not honouring this. There are enough people now that it makes for a NASTY pr move if they tried to get out of it.

I have another booking number starting with N containing all letters for AC in addition to the booking number starting with Y alternating pairs of letter, number, letter for Spanair.

Thanks for the clarification. I noticed when booking that there were options that included an Air Canada segment, so that makes sense. Good to hear that it's been confirmed by AC

I just want to know which poor schmuck got fired over this. He could use a nice, cheap vacation.

Maybe they'll give him a flight from Spain to Calgary as part of his severance.

I just did a search, and the cheapest flight to Menorca any time this year on Travelocity is $787 Canadian. So, the "deal" has been discovered and removed. A bunch of Spanair high-ups are probably currently debating and trying to figure out what to do with all of the bookings.

Either removed or all the seats at that price have been filled

I have to think that if this was someone who screwed up, it would have been shut down right away.
Of course, the fact that travelocity was issuing flights for basicallly the cost of taxes and AIF makes me wonder how it was even possible in the first place...
