Soooo...............I dont get it. What does it do?
I'm from a small town.......
That opening in the ground is to prevent regular road vehicles from getting through. If a car attempts to go through it, the front wheels will get stuck in the "Trap" and they won't be able to get out, it has been tried... because I've seen people try to use wooden plans to get out from there... and it didn't go. Buses, emergency vehicles (outside of regular cop cars and paramedic SUVs) can get through.

It does look like it to me too, whenever I'm in Calgary, I pass by there to get to Deerfoot.
I actually have a lot of respect for a guy who gave up a very lucrative career to try to help his adopted home state. Now whether or not he knows what he's doing...

I believe (and correct me if I'm wrong), that most/all of these also have a remote gate beside them so smaller vehicles that need to can still get through (like cop cars and such).
And yes, that does indeed look like the one at Centre/Harvest Hills/Country Hills.

Yes, most of them have a remote gate beside it... because tiny shuttle buses (which technically aren't "buses" in my books) can't get through the trap... so they use the gate... Also, in even that a car is stuck in the trap, bus driver has a key to open the gate so they can get through
Every freaking morning. 3 lanes only one of which is ever occupied but they have to stop until ALL the traffic passes.

Although I did not personally witness any of these, they are still funny.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.
The first 2 clients of the day today.
Both of them started their conversations with me today by saying, i'm late on my payment for this month, how come no one called me?
To which i replied, well, probably because we are busy lending and not being paid to babysit adults....at which point i cursed myself for YET AGAIN forgetting my flask at home.
One morning a few years back, my friend, his brother and I were in the left-hand turning lane behind two cars. There was no advanced turning at this intersection yet, so you had to wait for incoming traffic to pass before turning left. The guy in between us and the front car decides that he is in such a hurry that he drives on the curb to get ahead of the front car to turn left and proceeds to turn and gets t-boned by an oncoming car.

You have a flask? So do I! Dare ya to pack it on Saturday for Grossi's bday...
I attended this event yesterday. The famous Gloucestershire cheese roll, where people race after a cheese down a hill that has got to be about a triple black diamond in ski rating. Any thoughts I had about participating dissipated after I saw the number of people taken away on spinal boards.
