Tyler Myers sure is impressive. What a big presence on the back end.

Soo... tie-breaker for 1st is head-to-head, but tie-breaker for 3rd is an extra game? That's a bit weird.

I can see Windsor beating Rimousky because they're the better team and than knocking off Drummondville because Drummondville is out of gas. (The Flames should hire whoever coaches the Voltigeurs PP.) Kelowna wins the final because Windsor is now out of gas.

or the head coach Guy Boucher. He was the PP coach for Team Canada at the world juniors, and seems to be a coaching star on the rise. would make a good replacement for rich preston

Little off topic...
I recall TSN's O'Toole or Onrait last night (both of whom btw I find hilarious), saying how Bykov who coached Russia at WC looks like a Bond villain.... what about that Boucher guy? Man.. he looks like he could shove an umbrella up someones a$$ and open when he's PO'd.

Windsor down 4-2 at the start of the 3rd period against Rimouski.
Dale Mitchell scored a natural hat trick in a total of 3 min. 33 seconds to give Windsor the lead 5-2.
8:00 minutes left.

Windsor wins with a great 3rd period comeback. Game finished 6-4. Nemisz scored his first of the tournament with 1 second left.
Just to comment, I thought Nemisz looked quite effective and wow how good is Taylor Hall.
Windsor plays Drummonville tomorrow in the semis tomorrow.

I really hate to say this but the more I see Hall play, the more he reminds me of Rico Fata in junior. He can speed by most guys but just doesn't use his teammates well and can get the tunnel vision going at times.
He's already a much better scorer than Fata ever was in London but he does play on much better teams.

This is the first time I've seen Hall play so remember this is a limited viewing, but in the part I saw he has better puck skills and hockey IQ than Rico Fata ever had. That was his biggest problem, he had no hockey sense at all, and couple that with not great hands and there you have it.
Tonight I saw Hall show some great speed, some unbelievable 1-on-1 moves (he flipped the puck to the side of the d-man, caught it, put it down and nearly scored), and made a few great passes to Mitchell.
Again, I have only seen a very small sample. He does have another year to improve on utilizing his teammates effectively before he gets drafted.

You should try to catch more of him if you can, he is just great to watch.
I'm so looking forward to next season for the Spits, with him only getting stronger over the summer. He is definitely something special.

Hall is nothing like Fata to me. Hall looks like a future star to me, one of the most impressive 16? year olds I've ever seen in junior myself. Only other one I can remember standing out nearly as much was Scott Hartnell who was QBing his teams PP at that age IIRC. But Hall impressed me more than Hartnell. Sky is the limit for that Hall kid if you ask me.
He and Myers are the top two prospects in the tournament as far as I'm concerned.

I agree.
Never saw Hartnell play, but in the last 3 years of watching CHL hockey regularly, I have to agree that he's by far the most complete and promising player a year before his eligibility.
I think Windsor is lying about his weight as he's skinny as a bean pole. If the kid packs on more strength, he'll have his way with the OHL next year.
The one thing I really like about Hall right now is the sandpaper and feisteiness he's been bringing despite the fact that he's a star offensive player. If he gets significantly stronger next year, I wouldn't be surprised to see him start punishing people below the goal line on both sides of the ice.
Ovenchkin-lite is a very realistic projection if continues to improve.

I live in London so I was 'lucky' enough to see a bunch of Fata. I agree that Hall is going to be a better player than Fata, but when he gets going at top speed he does not see the ice. There are times when guys are standing at the blue line while he tries to skate around random forward guy instead of head manning the puck and the same thing happens when he's got the puck on the rush... he just doesn't see his teammates well. When he slows down he sees the ice much better as you could see on his pass to Mitchell for one of the 3rd period goals.
You have to remember that this is Hall's 2nd year in the OHL (and he didn't play as an underager like Tavares).. he's not a rookie. He's not eligible for this draft as a late birthday. He's 17... not 16 as mentioned in this thread.

Walked into Chilis this evening for dinner (Wichita, KS) and what is on the big screen but Windsor/Drummondville. People were watching.
Who knew?
