I got this from internal alerts that were sent out from 2 different departments at my workplace. If the info is incorrect then I stand corrected.
Where they got their information I don't know, but I'd hope their sources would have access to reliable information. I find it disturbing to think that statements like this would be sent out without reliable confirmation, but what can I say? I posted this based off of what I had read from a source I'm supposed to be able to trust and rely on.

It would be all over the news if it was true. I don't want you to think I was accusing you of lying...that's not what I was saying.
I apologize if that's how it sounded.

Yeah, the bigger news shouldn't be the scare....but the fact that nobody in the US has died from it.

No not at all. Frankly my only concern now is that this kind of information would be sent out without confirmation from someone reliable, I'm kind of taken aback at the moment actually. Scare tactics are crappy in darn near every situation but they definitely have no place in health care. Hopefully this is some kind of one time mistake that will be rescinded in the next few days or so. I'm afraid to think that I can't trust the information that gets sent out for something of this importance. Scary.

I was just in Mexico. I am good friends with a local pet store owner and he paid me to go into Mexico and capture a wild pig. Upon smuggling it back into Canada, it turns out that the store owner wanted a male pig (for breeding purposes). Feeling rather upset, I went into fish creek park and released the pig.
Is this bad?

I knew it was the Mexican Pigs, even when I knew it was the immigrants I knew it was the Mexican Pigs.

Did they give him one of the most painful "non invasive" tests they have - the dreaded spinal tap?

Did anyone see the empty soccer stadium in Mexico city.
It was sold out for a game, but nobody showed up except the players who played the game.
It was the Stand.

As mentioned in a previous thread, our society really has to take a look at how we value meat and the environmental/societal/moral concerns related to it.
Not saying go completely veggie, just saying we really do need to change a few things.

Nevermind, too early in the morning to be combative.

People weren't allowed to attend. Mexico is restricting public gatherings.

That was a government decision, they were canceling all public events, I assume that would include games.

Not sure, but he had to shave all of his body hair due to all the leeds and various other things that they had to do to him.

Unless they were suspecting meningitis, I would doubt it.

It's actually quite scary to think of how many diseases have transferred from animal to human
Pandemic potential:
Swine flu - Pigs
Bird flu - Birds
SARS - That Asian rodent
Not a pandemic, but still serious:
Ebola - unknown animal, possibly chimps
Mad Cow - Cow
West Nile - Mosquitoes initially infected birds
