I can't help but LOL when stuff like that happens to the Yanks. Not only are they losing but they way they are doing it is just delicious.

14 runs in one inning. Absolutely unheard of. I'm kinda enjoying this meltdown too. Yanks fans were screeming in jest last game for Swisher to pitch, now this happens. Just love it.

Beckett's suspension was reduced by a game (from 6 to 5) so that he wouldn't miss a start.

You purposefully throw at someone's head and you should miss at least three starts, IMO.

The Washington Nationals are 1-11 and officially eliminated from playoff contention.
Can we have the Expos back now!?

I wouldn't say the Yanks suck. More like Chien Ming Wang sucks. So far this season he is 0-3 with 6 IP, 23 H, 23 R, 23 ER, 2 SO, 34.50 ERA. Yankees feel that he isn't 100% healthy although Wang insists he is. He obviously doesn't have the arm strength he should have and his slider isn't sliding. He did fan 11 in an extended spring training game yesterday over 7 innings. Sounds like his next start will be in the Minors to work on his mechanics.

I do not think Wang will be back for the yankees for a while. It would be neat to see the correlation statistics of newly acquired pitchers and era/opponents ba for the yankees. It seems as if you are either cut out for it, or it is a disaster.
Go Jays Go !

Untill this season Wang has been great for the Bombers. But I do see what your saying. CC has not lived up to his billing although it sounds like he is a perienial slow starter. AJ on the other hand has been lights out. I wonder if it is just the Yankees in general or all FA pitchers that change teams through out the majors.

The most blaring name that sticks out to me is Javier Vazquez---that guy has been lights out for everyone in his career, and for the yanks he got destroyed.

ARe you thinking more of his post season starts? He didn't fair that well for the White Sox either (in the post season).

Yeah, I wouldn't call Javier Vasquez lights out by any stretch. He had 3 good years in Montreal, and then other than that he's been an average starter.

if you just ignore wins and losses---he has had an opponents BA in the past 4 years at around .250..averages a strike or more per inning (logs about 200 innings plus) and has an era around 4.25
Hell, I would want that guy on my team. How the braves got this guy for Brett Lillbridge is a steal..

A great article on a guy who got drafted five times, and turned down 5 million--who now works for 11.50 an hr at costco.
