Now, whether or not Obama's foreign policies will allow his approval ratings to stay high world-wide is another question.
Really?

So when Obama sends another brigade or two into Afghanistan, the terrorists won't fight back because the world supports Obama?

While Bush certainly did nothing to help the evil tyrant image, and some of his policies probably encouraged it (Gitmo, Iraq, etc.) it's pretty foolish to think that the fanaticism will slow down considerably over a short time frame.

That's the sort of thing that takes a lifetime or more. Obama's international 'likability' isn't going to help in the really angry nations.

You do know that the rise of extremism saw its greatest growth and activity before Bush came into power. Remember that the world trade center attacks were in action long before Bush was sworn in, the Cole attacks the attacks on the marine barracks in Beruit, the hostage situation in Iran.

To say that Bush is some key cause in the rise of terrorism is incorrect. Extremism is caused by blind hate, not the hate of one man, but the hate of situations, and the creation of convenient targets.

There will always be easy recruiting as long as thier are extremist viewpoints that feed on the young and the stupid, Obama is not going to change that, he is not some great hope for peace, he is not some great hope for a reduction in their activities.

Besides, Obama is going to persecute the war in Afghanistan to whatever end there is and he's going to slow down the withdraw out of Iraq until he's sure that Iraq is secure.

He's not going to withdraw support for Israel, or support for the currupt but compliant regimes in the middle east.

But if he shows any weakness or lack of resolve in keeping these elements on the run, America will pay for that kindness.

lol yup, spend a few hours with the conservative right and hear their outrageous claims of Obama being the anti-christ, muslim terrorist, et al.

Now he acts like a normal human being and makes a comment 90% of wouldn't be offended by and ITS OFFENSIVE.

I'm betting Fox news has 20 journalists tasked to just find things they could turn into negetive media against Obama.

Bush made it easy, Obama has made it harder, but no matter who you put in power COULD YOU IMAGINE PALIN as VP.

Its all about American media, we discuss 'FLUFF' and nonsense. Because its not about intellectual debate, just distraction.

So Fox will have a good week, and the opiate addict Rush has something to again remind us why us rich white folk are suffering in this administration.

You know, its actually funny how some of you rail against Fox.

Cause whatever they're doing seems to be working. Drudge runs the cable news race every once in a while, and Fox is constantly at the top.

I don't think they would be that sensationalist if it wouldn't work. They're just giving the people what they want to hear.

Thats exactly the point, they give what they think their peeps want to hear and especially when they combine their conservative agenda within their news and daily 'talking points' (watch the documentary Outfoxed).

The US news media is for the most part Crips vs Bloods.

Its sensationalist and its over the top dramatic ideals that would shock and offend the great journalists of 20-50 years ago.

I have no idea what Outfoxed is, since I haven't watched Fox or gone to their website in years.

There are about 300 million better places on the internet to get our news.

But you are right. For the most part.

You should just dl outfoxed the documentary, even though obviously biased you can see Walter Cronkite and former fox employees describe the bias and 'talking points' that make Fox a propaganda machine and not a news outlet.
