I meant Rogers. By tethering your Laptop to your iPhone while jailbroken (something you can very easily do), you're cheating them by using a service they would otherwise make you pay extra for.

Yes you have a point there. I think you will see a service fee for it eventually.
Although, technically you are still surfing the web and paying for a data plan just with a different hardware device, but I see your point.

Yeah, PDANet is probably my favorite app. I'm paying good money for my Fido data plan and I'll be damned if they tell me what software I can and can't use with it.
iPhone + PDANet + AA1 Netbook = mobile goodness

An SMS with a picture or some other media attached to it.

I wish I could find the documentation outlining all the fine print of this 6GB plan I have with Rogers. I can't find any info on it on their site anymore since they discontinued it.

Yeah I was looking too.. I was sure I'd read something about tethering being ok with it.

Wow!
This update addresses 99% of customer requests. Some that have not really been mentioned here:
Landscape in Notes, Mail and SMS.
Syncing Notes.
A2DP Bluetooth.
Bonjour Bluetooth networking.
Shake to shuffle iPod.
Proximity and dock connector api hooks.
Texting of coordinates through MMS.
Push for apps is going to be huge and a lot of great apps are going to be created by devs.
Kermitology,
Are you going to install 3.0 on your personal phone or do you have a test unit? Haven't looked at ADC to see if there are any limitations. Is it just an .ipsw file for download?

I spoke with them about something related to this earlier. It turns out they do not provide the specifics of the plan anywhere on our contracts or on their website. Probably more of a benefit to us than them.

Spotlight search is accessible by flicking the iPhone's home screen to the right (as if there was a home screen to the left). In addition to serving as a global search app, it can also act as a quick application launcher.
|
Perhaps I was just skimming too much yesterday, but I didn't realize that's how spotlight works. Very cool.

Considering this doesn't come out until June, not for the foreseeable future. I'm sure one of my team (probably me, because I seem to be the quickest to learn new stuff) will start playing around with the beta version of the SDK and firmware.
This happens to fit perfectly into our development roll-out plan. It's astonishing really. Our app is getting a boost as well straight from Apple. My boss showed the demo to the VP of the Navigation group and he's been working with us to make it more "Apple-ified," and as much as I really dislike some of the things Apple does, they really know how to make a UI.

Could it be true? Could the 10 mb download cap for apps and podcasts be lifted?
http://i.gizmodo.com/5174830/iphone-...p-for-podcasts
I hate the 10 mb cap because I always forget to download my podcasts. Streaming them is a great option, but I stop and start them so much it can get annoying.

Man, this is awesome news. I'm actually debating tossing $100 down to register for iPhone ADC membership so I can get the beta.
(I've downloaded it already, but I've heard you can't synch with iTunes, if you install it on a device that isn't registered with ADC.)
