I had a tough time on this one and got it by fluke, I'm pretty sure. I would be curious of how it's suppose to get done to see how far off I was.

I could argue there is no particular way it is supposed to be done, there might be some ways which are shorter or more straightforward, but as long as the goal is achieved all solutions are equally right.
as for level 40, i posted 2 possible solutions in white in post 20 of this thread.

Well it looks like I did do it right, I guess it just felt kind a fluky.

Not a sure fire way but here is my take.
Cut 1:
On the right hand side, where the ice is holding up the rock plank:
- Cut the ice from left to right going in a north east (upwards, diagnol) direction, thus splitting the two pivot points. Try to get as close to the upper pivot point and try to make a point using the top right hand corner of the block. The key here is that when the block of ice falls, it needs to fall under the plank, still connected to the rope. Try again if this doesn't happen, you just need the right cut to get the right weight.
Cut 2:
Cut the little viking free by cutting just above the pivot point, going left to right. If you make a perfectly horizontal cut then this should work. He shouldn't slide down.
Cut 3:
Cut the big jagged ice block free as close as possible to the top pivot point. This will fall down, hitting the rock plank, which has the frozen chunk underneath it which then slams against the frozen viking and he happily flies into the boat.
Voila!

That's the beauty of this game. There are a number of ways to make each level work.
Did you try my way out?

Ahhh of course pre-cutting the viking. Seems so obvious now.
Thanks
I was trying to get the viking spinning then cutting at the right time. This way was a lot easier.

That solution rules. At first I toiled for a good 20 minutes perfecting the one where you get him spinning by letting that comb slide down and then using the centrifugal force to launch the viking with a perfectly timed cut.
After passing it, I couldn't duplicate it using that technique.
Then I Just ignored all other props in the level and just chopped up the ice around the viking so that with one cut, he starts spinning. Then, with a perfectly timed cut it is possible to launch him in the boat. I managed to do that once for every five or 6 attempts.
But your solution is by far the easiest and most fool proof. Well done!

Step three: Cut the jagged block (with the missing sprockets) diagonally from right above the top sprocket across to right above the other pivot point ( leaves you with a traingle shaped peice that swings down and knocks the guy on the boat..
You ignore the plank completely.

F'n guy. You just had to post this now. Couldn't have done it on a sunday night. Nooo. Had to be Thursday.
You are my enemy. Unless you're encased in ice. Then I'll somehow feel compelled to rescue you.
