I see two episodes tomorrow:
- "The Lie" - Hurley and Sayed run from the police. (makes sense)
- "Jughead"- Desmond searches for a woman who can help Faraday stop the island's erratic movements.
Maybe a double header?

Been doing some thinking on the first two episodes....
Ms. Hawkings, the lady that was messing about with the computer and pendulum thing is the same woman who has met Desmond on at least two occasions. She helped him with the engagement ring for Penny and met him in The Constant when he was shifting through time and explained things.
Her computer had a Dharma logo and she could be in an off-island Dharma Station. She is not Daniel's mother.
Daniel is much to young to have been around during the construction of the Orchid Station. He had obviously infiltrated while in the past to learn more about the energy source/donkey wheel that will allow him to try and figure out his part of the skipping record problem.
Ben is probably the one who has ordered the paternity test in order to scare Kate into returning to the island.
Cindy, the flight attendant who joined the others in the first season is not traveling through time with the losties. She was always an Other. She disappeared with Richard and the gang when Locke traveled the first time.
Miles could be Dr. Chan/Candle/.... 's son. There was a large emphasis on him waking up for the baby in the first scene of ep 1. I think Miles was born on Island.
Ben has a very narrow window in order to get himself, Locke and th Oceanic 6 back. This is because the losties will be 3 years into the future at the point M. Hawkings tells him he needs to return. She just needs to figure out where it will be and the correct course to get there. Because Desmond is Daniel's constant and Desmond has some sort of ability to not adhere to string theory, he will be able to communicate information vital to finding the island.

Well, one question about Charles Widmore got answered tonight.
And in case anybody PVR'd it off Bell during the game, PVR the west coast feed; or at least the last 3 minutes of the hour. Looks like Bell tried to push a simsub in too early and we missed a lot in that minute.

same thing happened with Eastlink here in Nova Scotia. Not sure what went down in that minute.
I thought that was the best episode this season (well of the three). I like the introduction to Widmore, Richard's increased role and some of his back story, explanation of the concrete underneath the hatch, etc.
PS: I think the lady that Barnes was talking about is able to determine when/where the island is and how to get there. The chart with the various plottings on it would be where the island is/was. She's telling Ben he has 72 hours left where he can access the island knowing how to get there, etc.
I assumed the lady was Daniel's mother, I like the Miles theory, I do think Ben will kill Penny but Charlie will probably live. Not sure where they're going with Charlotte, or the girl in the vegitative state.
Man remember when the biggest question was "Polar Bears?! WTF?!"

So blondie is Daniel's mom, who is also Ms.Hawkings? Then who's the dad, Widmore? Does that make Daniel and Desmond half-step-brothers?
So it seems Charles and Ben will develop some feud on the island (possibly about who the leader is), and then it continues later on after Charles makes his way off the island.

perhaps the third scientist (the nosed bleeding red head) is Danial's daughter. He said he loved her, if it is his daughter that would be factual. I think she is a love child between from danial and the hot blond chick that capture's danial at the creek. If you recall, she says to him "you just couldn't stay away" or something like that.

After sleeping on the episode, I think Desmond is an "other" or at least related to one somehow. It would explain his inability to time travel with the rest of the crew.
I'm also wondering what happened to the children? Remember the kids kidnapped in season 1, episode 1? Where are they? What happened to the rest of those kidnapped in season 1, episode 1? They weren't all others as Echo was supposed to be kidnapped too (he fought back and won).
I also got a kick out of "you mean to tell me, you, a Chinese man, and a British woman are all part of the American Military!?!"
This story arc must have been thought of years ago, as Richard goes in to visit young John and asks him "which of these things is yours?" Just like how John went to Richard and gave him his compass.
Does anyone remember what it was that Richard showed John and asked what was his?

I can't remember all the items but it was the knife, his trusty knife and Richard smiled.

Good point about the kids. Maybe they are getting the mysterious injections and that keeps them in the proper time.
I think that all 3 of the freighties were born on island. The woman that lead Daniel to the bomb is his mom, Ms. Hawkings. Widmore is his dad which makes Penny his sister.
Need to now figure out who Charlotte's parents are.

So, can somebody who saw the West coast feed tell us what happened in that minute? I'm guessing there was another "flash" as it all seemed to end pretty quick right after that.
Just before the lost minute I'm talking about, Sawyer had just disarmed "Blondie" and Locke was talking to Richard in the tent, showing him the compas and explaining that he was to be their leader. Then a minute of disjointed comercials and all of a sudden they were all walking together at the end of the show.

You are right, there was another time shift. I caught a later broadcast. Locke was frantically trying to get Richard to tell him how to get off the island and didn't get the information before the shift. Then all the tents and the others disappeared and left it where you picked up.

Also, the last flash caused a lot of blood to come out of Charlotte's nose and she fainted in Daniel's arms.
The scene's from the next lost show us that they are now in the time where John finds the hatch door and the beam of light comes shooting out. End of season 1 or so.

I don't think they actually told us. Just everything seems to fit:
- Right age (Why else would they have a ~19 year old guarding a prisoner by herself?)
- Right accent
- Daniel looks at her and says "you remind me of somebody I used to know"
- The fact that he is willing to share the time travel story with her. To me this is big- as pretty much the only person I would be willing to share a time travel story with would be the person who at some point in the future taught me everything I knew about time travel.

just re-watched the episode
any relevance to the fact that Desmond and Penny's son is named Charlie?

And a swear that I saw a copy of Gray's Sports Almanac in Locke's pocket when he travelled back to the 1950's.
