Margarine is overkill. as you just need the oil from the spam to soak into the toast.

I love fried spam and eggs.
Its also great in an omlet when you cut it up into little spam cubes. This makes a great western sandwich.

I am reminded of my delicacy of the past: Grate spam with a cheese grater, grate cheese with same grater, spread both on bread and pop in toaster oven....if we had spam in the house I'd have some right now.
It's probably too high brow to be ghetto as you have to grate the products.
How about a nuked hotdog and squeez cheez?

I had a mustard and mayonnaise sandwich the other night when I was loaded. As far as I can recall it was tasty...
Can't beat a plain grilled cheese like fotze described, but I think my all time favorite may well be a tomato or cucumber sandwich. Slice a fresh picked tomato (preferably still warm from being in the sun), some mayo (or Miracle Whip if you're feeling fancy) fresh bun, little bit of salt and pepper and chow down. Cucumber sandwich is the same except the cucumber has to be cold...delicious stuff.

When it gets cold in the ghetto, nothing is better than a grilled cheese sandwich dipped in hot cocoa.
Try it, you'll like it.
My dad used to make Spam pizza: White bread, pizza/tomato sauce, spam, cheese. Broil or cook in toaster oven.

When I was a kid I would make miracle whip sandwiches or Doritos sandwiches. When I'm feeling lazy I will make a cheese grilled sandwich by toasting two slices of bread and putting a slice of processed cheese between them and quickly squishing the sandwich flat. Also, I have had kind of a lard sandwich once or twice. I was working in a camp in the bush splitting posts and rails and we pretty much lived on bacon, eggs and toast for breakfast and Oriental noodles for supper. My friend always buttered his toast with the bacon grease. I tried it a few times but, found it a little too salty.

I had a grilled-cheese sandwich once but I ain't had no butter but did have some hardened up bacon grease so that became the "butter".
I guess you'd call that a chilled greese sandwich.
