I thought for sure this thread would've been tied into this thread by now.
Count me in as one of the people that hardly ever washes fruit and vegetables. I usually wipe an apple on my shirt a couple of times to kind of clean it. I hardly ever get sick and I didn't get a flu shot a couple of weeks ago. My wife and kid have been at home all week with the stomach flu, and I have yet to catch that from them.

I saw the title and really debated on whether or not to open this thread...
Do I really want to read about some guys sticky cucumber ? I mean I don't call it that but what the heck... some people have all sorts of pet names for for it.
After reading the opening post, I was some what relieved and some what disappointed...

Funny thing about me and food hygiene... It deteriorates rapidly the further I get from civilization. If I'm about to eat an apple and there's a faucet nearby, I'll rinse it. Making a greek salad, the water is running for a good 10 minutes to clean all the stuff I put in it. But then I go camping and a hotdog falls into the fire... Dig it out, dust it off, slamma jamma. Not to mention all the food I eat with my hands after two days of quadding, fooling around with my dog, collecting firewood, dropping spikes in the woods... Kinda gross, but I'm in the 'rarely sick' club. Very rarely.

A married man.
How's your search for that sticky cucumber coming along by the way? Problem solved?

Old, soft ones aren't very good either.
If they're sticky, they're usually soft.

Only until you wash it. Or, if you're troutman, rewash it.

Grabbing it with both hands is the best tecnique. That way you have better control and you are less likely to fumble and drop the cuke, particularly if its a big one.
