I have one final question.
Should I bring my three month old infant? Should I find a sitter? I'd rather bring him, but I don't want other patrons to get pissed at me

This is all the Brazilian style of bbq called Churrasco and these steakhouses are called Churrascarias. They don't normally have whole steaks like we do, even at home in Brazil, they cut it up. The waiters (gauchos) bring the meat on skewers and you eat until you can't anymore. There's also a good buffet of salads, veggies, potatoes and stuff. I recommed the FEIJOADA. It's Brazil's national dish of black beans stewed with pork. It's very good.
I haven't been to the one at Cravings in Calgary because it doesn't look as good, but Gaucho and Bolero are great. Bolero has perhaps a better selection of meat, better feijoada and the great cinnamon pineapple, but I find the meat tastier at Gaucho. Both places make caipirinhas (Brazil's national drink made from sugar cane liquor called Cachaca) and they make them well, but they need more sugar to taste like they really do in Brazil.
Fogo do Chao is a chain from Sao Paulo that some cities in the US have. Samba in Vancouver off of Robson is also a Churrascaria. These places are great but you have to go to Brazil to eat the real thing. Just awesome! I think they are worth the money because if you think about it, how much would a rack of lamb or big steak cost you at a steakhouse? Easily $20-30. You eat one or two and you already got your money's worth.

I brought my 2 year old.... SHe LOVED the pineapple.... And all the waitresses loved coming over and talking to her...
Its a pretty busy place, and lots of commotion with servers all over the place with meat.. I dont think anyone would even notice.. Especially if your infant is not a really fussy baby.

When I went to Bolero it was slow...like, we were lucky if a skewer came out once in ten minutes slow...but the food was good.
Gaucho is much smaller and has fewer meat choices, but they bring a skewer around every few minutes, and the food is just as good.

I know I always enjoy hearing a screaming infant when I go out for dinner.

After reading this thread, I went and tried Bolero.
Found the food to be very hit and miss. The first time the lamb came around, it was perfect; the second time around, it was way overcooked and dried. Same way with their other meats; sometimes it came out good, sometimes it was overcooked. The food is good, but not consistently good.

go to Gaucho. The restaurant is much smaller and the meat quality is more consistent. If you're after the frills like the salad bar, Bolero is better, if you're more interested in the meat, Gaucho is better.

Gaucho is on Manchester road. Their site is www.brazilianbbq.ca. Their Rodizio is $35 which is I believe the same price as Bolero.
I've been to both places twice, but I don't know if I'd go back to Bolero if I had a choice between the two.

Sorry, forgot to post last night. I have to say I was pretty disappointed and won't go back. It was $37.50 a person, the meat was either dry or way under cooked...but mostly dry. The lamb was awful. The only good meat was the bacon filet mignon and the pork. The pineapple was really good too, but roasting a pineapple isn't rocket science and certainly not worth the price of admission. I will try Gaucho's to see if it is any better, but won't go back to Bolero.

I did one of these in Fort Worth. It was great, but I'd prefer eating a giant piece of Schnitzel in Munich to just eating a bunch of meat.

Seeing as this is Brazil;
Brazil = rainforest = really weird animals,
Why don't these buffets have more exotic meats?
I'd be willing to try Anaconda meat.
And what's so great about the pineapple?
