Something sorta similar to that except it was a solo challenge that you played against the clock if you could even finish the course without the bearing dropping off.
More a game of skill and co-ordination.

Very nice. I still have the 3 posters. Never got round to framing them yet as I was waiting on the 4th to complete the set.
Funnily enough my Xmas present is 4 framing clamps so I can do my own frames in the future.

I sent a set of those posters to a buddy in NC who is friends with Gelinas. Gelinas was amazed when this guy showed him them.

BTW i am amazed at the price of some of these things. I looked at a Hermes bag today that was like $40k

A gift idea for the hard to buy for dad/brother/anyone that has a thing for geography...
http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/20051231/mova-globe/
It's a self revolving globe. It's a bit bigger than a softball and sits on a little tripod. The globe is encased in a plastic shell with a thin layer of clear liquid all around it. There is some kind of mechanism inside it that uses solar power to make it spin.
This thing is about the coolest desk ornament I've ever seen. My sis bought me one in Vegas, so I'm not sure if they're here in Canada or if it has to be ordered. But I do have to stop by map world today... I'll see if they have them.

Guys... advice? Would you think it was lame if your girlfriend made something? What are good ideas of things to make?
I am SO lost for gift ideas this year... friggin' Christmas.

Enthused: Some of my most cherished gifts from my girlfriend were things that she made for me. She made me a scrap book, a letter book (a bunch of letters to open and read depending on situation), and a calendar. I made her a recipe cook book and a poster.
I'll depend if your boyfriend is the sentimental type, but for me, I appreciate knowing that she spent a lot of effort to make me something, then to just buy me something that was random and expensive

Snowshoes?
I've got a pair for sale... I bought them as a Christmas gift for my wife 2 Christmas's ago (she specifically asked for them).
She's never used them.

I'm angry that the donkey at the computer store sold me the wrong cable yesterday especially since I asked him twice if it was and eSATA to eSATA cable only to get it home and discover that it's really an eSATA to SATA cable. According to their website they have the correct one in stock and it's $5 cheaper.

Any ideas on what to get someone you don't really like? I have to get a gift for my dads girlfriend, I just plain don't like her. But if I don't get her something or acknowlegde her in some way, my dad will pick a fight. So any ideas? I originally wanted to just get them both a bottle of wine, but I found out, they make their own wine.

Maybe other wine stuff - a decanter, nice wine opener, wine rack.
This time of year there are best wines of the year magazines out - ex. Wine Spectator, Wine & Spirits etc.

Sorry. No dice. I stopped at both Map World and Map Town. Neither place had even heard of them. Too bad. It really is the awesomest gift I ever received.

I had to basically just load all the photos and then give it to them and set it up for my parents to use theirs

How about wine glasses? Bailey's is always a nice gift at Christmas too.
Gift certificates for dinner out?
That's a hard one.

Gift certificates to the last place that you would ever get your hair done at.
Cheap perfume from the dollar store. Or 'Flame' by BK
DVD's of really bad movies.
If you had more time I'd suggest going to Red Flag Deals and checking out the freebies forum. Send away for every crappy freebie listed there and make a basket out of them for her.

Get her a really itchy but expensive sweater she'll feel obligated to wear. Or a tacky peice of furniture or a pillow that she'll hate but will be forced to show off when you're around.
