I still don't like Claire. I think I just don't like the actress that plays her. I don't think she's very good.
Is Elle sticking around? It said that Kristin Bell was a guest star, but is she sticking around for awhile or only going to be in a couple episodes? If she sticks around, I hope they manage to write her a little better. The whole "I need to make daddy proud" thing they milked last season and in the premiere is tired.
I had totally forgotten about the "emo crying girl," as we dubbed her last season. I was hoping she'd get killed off, I still am. Though now that she is wearing the tight low cut tanktops and is seemingly more endowed, I am sure some of the menfolk have changed their minds about her.
I third the idea that not everyone should have powers for the reason mentioned, that it detracts from the show. I thought it was pretty hokey when they made it seem like all you need to gain a power is an injection. But I guess it wasn't that easy, as Suresh started shedding or something.
So... Is it Nikki and she doesn't know she's Nikki (she has memory loss or something) or is it really not Nikki? I thought that was confusing.
|
she is sticking around but this season she could only do 12 or 13 episodes because of other shows. They want her to be a perm. char though.

Nope. Not Nikki. Nikki's dead. They showed her dead body in that coffin. But she's apparently one of three triplets, according to that old guy. I dunno who the third one is, whether she was somehow infused with Nikki (hence the multiple personalities) or there's another one of her floating around.

Not too big on this season so far. It seems scatterbrained and all over the place.
What made season one so great is that there was a clear beginning and end, and they dropped nice little breadcrumbs to follow along the way. Just enough to tease you with the promise of more. They're already a few episodes into this season and I still have no idea what the purpose of everything is -- it seems to change from episode to episode. And there's way too much going on at once. They really need to slow it the hell down and establish some sort of end goal...
It reminds me of what made the first Matrix good and the next two crap. The first one was mysterious and exciting as new pieces of the puzzle were revealed and in the next two someone figured that everyone loved the special effects and fighting so much that'd they'd fill a two hour movie with almost nothing but that and disregard everything that made the original great.

I like Chuck too, its a good show, glad it made 2nd season. Its funny because if not for the writer strike and therefore a lack of new shows this season both Chuck and Life were going to get the axe.
Anyway, I thought last nights episode of Heroes was great, made up for the previous week, got me really interested in this season again. Week 1 amazing, week 2 lost a lot of interest thinking here comes another boring season after all, then last night revived it.

I don't think that's quite true. I got the impression from watching it that 'future Peter' never absorbed Sylar's power and told 'present Peter' to do so in order to avoid the mistakes that 'future Peter' had made.
I think it would be cool this season to have 'future Peter' pop up a few times as he jumped around in time before we saw him die. In theory 'present Peter" could bump into 'future Peter' a bunch of times and would have to decide whether or not to tell him about his own death....

can peter die tho? he has claires healing power so as far as I know he is now immortal too. the bullets would have to be lodged in a vital organ to cause him to 'die', as soon as the bullets are removed he should be back, just like when claire 'died' until the branch stuck in her brain was removed.
I mean he did explode at the end of season 1, if he survived that a few bullets shouldn't slow him down.

.....aaaaaaaaaand that's why this show is getting ridiculous. Too many immortals, timelines, nothing is permanant so who cares?
If they haven't fixed it up by the time they take their post november sweeps hiatus I will no longer be tuning in. Heroes, you are on notice.

No. But it does loose all it's effect when people are constantly dying and coming back to life. It's pointless, why do it? Why not just have them not die in the first place. It's lazy writing and a bad plot device.

I think that they have set up this show well with the those who have had their powers from the birth vs. those whose powers were created.
They really need to quit having shows in the future and the past. It is okay for a flash forward or flash back to see what could happed or have things change but for the plot to follow it just leaves to many holes. That being said I am with this show to the end

Thanks for the explanation. I had since figured it out, (that post was I believe about the premiere) but last nights episode went a long way in being more explicit about it.
Anyways, I am on the fence about this show now. I think it's getting a bit confusing, all the time jumping and people not being able to die, etc. There's a lot to keep track of now and I am not sure I have the remaining interest to try keeping track of it all.

There is no reason for SureshVader and MexicanBoobs to be on the show. Talk about pointless characters.

Well the Haitian was there when Claire shot Peter. I'm not sure if that negates his immortality or not though. Either way the bullet in his head will keep him down for a bit.

First episode of the season I thought was merely OK but if it was the first episode of the entire series I never would have watched again.
Second episode of the season was terrible. I very nearly cancelled the series recording on the DVR.
This episode was quite good minus the Suresh parts (he's still a terrible character and terrible actor). They need to rein some story lines in a bit and if they do it could have a strong season.
On killing Peter...I don't think it was an accident that Claire explicitly said a bullet to the back of the head would do the trick. Maybe reading too much into it but I'm assuming lodging the bullet there so that he's "dead" (until someone removes it).

When Sylar was poking around in Claires brain, he said something like "your unique claire, you will never die" like her brain was wired differently. So while a few people have absorbed her healing ability, Sylar did imply that immortality may be exclusive to her. It may have to do with her developing her abilities during puberty, making her physiology unique and something that couldn't be passed on to others when they absorbed her abilities...or something like that.

Well, it's not just Claire though. We know that buddy from medieval Japan is still alive (his name is totally escaping me) and has the exact same ability as Claire.
As far as Peter goes, I don't think we 'know that he himself exploded, so much as we know that he released a massive amount of energy. It does appear as though Claire's ability has been absorbed by Peter, but again, we don't know if that extends after death the way it seems to for Claire and white guy from medieval Japan.
