I rented that movie a couple of months ago. I LOVED it! I watched it twice, it was such a sweet movie.

The Changeling (2008). Jolie gives a solid performance and it serves as (another) damning film of the LA Police force circa the 1930s.
The Dark Knight. 'Nuff said.

I saw Coraline this weekend (in 3D), and really liked it. Definitely the best stop-motion film since Nightmare Before Christmas. It's just such a great story, (although it's too bad that the story was diluted somewhat with an extra character, but I can see why they felt it was necessary for the film). It had a lot of moments in it that felt like they were influenced by Svankmejer or Brothers Quay. The expanding tunnel that connects the two worlds that Coraline travels between, for example, is brilliantly done; or when a kettle's steam is done with some sort of cotton netting. And the scenes with the Burlesque show and the Mouse Circus were great.
I also liked the fact that it didn't overuse the 3D animation effects. There's one point in the title sequence where the animation is in your face, but for the most part, it resists the urge to remind you that you're watching a 3D film. It does brilliantly captures the depth of the stop-motion world. I'm looking forward to seeing it in 2D though, to see if it still has the same impact.

This movie was pretty amazing. I enjoyed the 3d effects, they made it that much cooler. The story was great, kinda dark but I liked it.

Saw Push last night. Thought it was better than the reviews make it seem. They did a much better job with the science fantasy plot device than Jumper.

Good to hear. I am going to see this one in a few minutes. My only hope was that it was better than the ads made it look, which is to say kinda cheap. But honestly, I am going to see Chris Evans, the man is gorgeous, so I suppose even if it's terrible, I will get some enjoyment out of it.

Had an idea!

Isn't it sad that there aren't constantly big name movies coming out every month? There is a LOT of talent in Hollywood, and a lot of 'potential' that could make for some good movies.
And yet, I'm disappointed, a LOT with the majority of the movies being made these days.

Saw Slumdog Millionaire tonight...I thought it was ok.
The music was good and well integrated but I didn't really connect with the characters and found the plot to be too stretched out. It covered such a wide swath of the lead character's life that it didn't really give the audience a chance to see any depth as to who he was. Seemed kinda flat. Also the editing (while slick and stylized) made the film feel rather disjointed and took away from the plot rather than enhance it.
Gave it 3 stars out of 5.
