Question for baseball enthusiasts.....Wade Miller.....a Blue Jay....would that work or no?!
Dude was a good pitcher two years ago, if I'm not mistaken, his numbers are down due to injury, could they not pick him up at a cheaper price.
Just a thought since the Jays need at least one more starter and one more for the pen.

hmm, would be an interesting pick up....would depend on the injury though and how much moola he would want.

have to be careful that it wouldn't turn into a strioka (pardont he spelling thing) - got him but was never injured and basically never pitched for the jays.

Yea saw that, I remember a few years ago when I played fantasy baseball I had him and I recall him being a machine. But then injury for last year....if he's healed, why not? Lost on Clement, maybe this is the poor man's version.
He has the potential to be IMO.

Miller could be a possibility but espn is reporting that the Jays are interested in Shea Hillenbrand. He is a 3B man but has also played first.

I think if the Jays got Hillebrand he would DH/1B for them.

Miller would be a good fit for the Jays but he will have a few options and not sure if the Jays will be top on his list.

From what I have read the Jays were trying for Hillenbrand before signing Koskie...maybe they will have to wait for the D'backs to trade Johnson and getting Shawn Green. Green may play first base for the D'backs, and this would make Hillenbrand available because Glaus is now the 3B man for ARZ.

That doesn't look like it's happening anymore...good thing too because it was a bad deal for LA in my opinion....

TSN has a report saying that the Dodgers have apparently inked OF JD Drew to a 5 year 55 million contract. If this deal is done I think this is a good signing for LA, especially with Finley and Beltre jumping ship.

An additional point about Miller is that he still may miss most of the season, according to ESPN Radio, and therefore some team may have to take a chance on him like the Yankees did with Jon Leiber two years ago.

Not sure if the Blue Jays would be able to afford to sign him if he has to sit for so long.

Chisox signed El Duque Orlando Hernandez to a 2 year deal, 8 million today. Good signing I think.

Looks like the Jays won't get Miller, I heard on the radio that the BoSox have signed Wade Miller to a one year contract. This doesn't surprise me one bit. The Sox needed another pitcher just in case the Yankees get Big Unit.

The Giants signed veteran OFer Moises Alou. Alou 38 joins Grissom 37, and Bonds 40 to form the oldest OF in baseball.

Eckstein signs with the Cards today. So for those of you keeping score at home:
Rentereria goes from the Cards to the Bosox
Cabrera goes from the Bosox to the Angels
Eckstein goes from Angels to Cards

See how nicely it all works out!

Bosox also resigned Jason Veritek today.

I like the Eckstein signing for the Cards. He obviously isn't as good as Renteria but he gives them a lead-off hitter, a guy that will play baseball the right way and a guy that will not make trouble in the lockeroom or in the public.

Still would have preferred they re-sign Edgar but Eckstein should fill in nicely.

Exactly. Eckstein isn't the most talented player around but he's the right fit for the Cards. They have loads of hitting still, and need a guy that can come in play solid D, and get key hits - perfect role for Eckstein.
