Hard to say, because the songs that I think are sad are because they've been associated to something sad in my life, not because the song itself is sad.

Whiskey Lulluby - Brad Paisley and Alison Kraus
Top of the World - Dixie Chicks (a cover, I can't remember who sings it orginally)
Gonna Get There Someday - Dierks Bentley
The Best I Ever Had - the Gary Allen version, not the Verticle Horizon version
Stay - Sugarland

Saddest song? "Anything in played in D minor.... it's the saddest of the keys."
Good call:
Nigel Tufnel: It's part of a trilogy, a musical trilogy I'm working on in D minor which is the saddest of all keys, I find. People weep instantly when they hear it, and I don't know why.
Back when I was a kid, probably under 10 years old, I hung out in my parents basement listening to a really old stereo. I would listen to the radio, and record songs I liked on a blank tape that I had. This song came on, and for some reason, I recorded it. I have always hated it since then. It always gets to me.
They always play that in the background of TV episodes when something really sad happens. I remember it was on when Seth left Newport Beach on the O.C.

Good point. I think "Yesterday" is a sad song because it was a close family friend's wedding song and I bawled like a baby at that wedding.
