^^^ I hate Zakk Wylde, the last few Ozzy singles have been uninspired and boring. At best, hes a poor mans Dimebag Darrel, at worst, hes a coat-tail rider thats been on autopilot for 15 years.
Gonna throw out two more out there that aren't 'big names' but you should all look into for something different: michael hedges
andy mckee
I'm also a bit of a fan of his work. As is true with too many of the guys mentioned in this thread, Michael died far too young.
One of his songs was featured in the film August Rush ('Ritual Dance'), which exemplifies his style and technique fairly well [A link to a decent YouTube video of him performing it in '97 is HERE].
I also know his mother, who works at the same school as my mother.
I don't know, i think Jake E Lee did an incredible job playing with ozzy, it just puzzles me why they dropped him and picked up
"Pentatonic Lick" Zach Wylde?
Regarding to Ozzy, I think that must the most luckiest man of the world: Somehow He has allways gotten the greatest guitarists to his side to hide the terrible lacking of his Singing- and other abilities. Randy is my clear favourite in that race.
A little OT, But one of the greatest guitarists is currently a professor in Astronomy and writes really fascinating blog:

He has the most incredible tone, and can right amazing riffs.
But after that he is good at best.
OK, maybe if we are looking technical skill then maybe people like Vai, Malmsteen, Petrucci and current Lee and Totman are far more skilled, but who listens them for real. If I want to hear fast peebing sounds I listen to my old modem. "It's not even music; it's sports." -Alexi Laiho
For me a great guitarist is 60 % composer, 20 % player and 20 % performer, and 15 % balls.

I don't mean playing bloody fast!( and if you listen to vai, he has incredible writing skills and wonderful melodies. Trust me the Speed Fits!)
I was going by pure imagination and influence on the guitar, like Hendrix or Becker, both are considered prodigies, and paved they way for future guitarists! They also were playing something nobody had ever heard, or had incorporated in to their music.
Hendrix- Blues mixed with some Rock, and a little influence of beethoven. With incredible melodies, probably the best!!!
Becker- Took Classical music and added a kick of metal, created symphonys and turned them into Metal anthems I.e. "Speed Metal Symphony"
Some would say that blackmoore did but becker just played it sound and perfectly, and also had the composing skills of beethoven or bach!) http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=lYVXRps-vKc
not to mention his incredible song rain!
Or a little piece of air http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=LLF8aMfrJeo
It's a pity he got als, we will never know his true potential.
And another note Laiho is one to talk in the song the necromancer, he rips a 32nd note solo that sounds like "noise",almost like a Ritchie Blackmoore live "experimental" solo so to speak!
