That's a pretty weak column there, Cow. Samuelson is normally a pretty good writer because he bombards you with facts and convinces you of his position with logic. This article is, ironically, short on substance. His one main point is that Clinton and CcCain have been in the public eye for so long that they are familiar, and he feels like he knows them. After that he goes into an argument of conjecture and ignorance of key points as well. I'm disappointed in Samuelson, because he is usually strong on money and economic issues, but it this article he misses the boat completely.

I keep hearing this annoying question from those who are so steadfast against Obama and ousting the established politbureau, and its echoed in this column in a very subtle way. Where does the money come from to execute his plan (what? I thought he didn't have a plan and was all talk, no substance!)? The answer is in the first issue he promises to address. Iraq. By getting out of Iraq he plugs an artery that is bleeding $18 million an HOUR. That's $13 BILLION in an average month. That's more than enough money to pay for what ever modifications to social programs that are on the books. I'm really disappointed no one has picked up on this. The media normally has more on the ball. Well, they used to anyway.

It's going to be a busy couple weeks leading into Ohio and Texas. Obama's win streak is impressive but more impressive is the slow turning of voters from Clinton's camp to Obama's camp.

Blue collar voters, unions, uneducated (non-college grads), women and Latinos were firmly Clinton voters but Wisconsin definitely changed that tune. Obama had big gains in all those voter types and polls in Ohio/Texas show Obama has narrowed the gap significantly.

Clinton has got to be worried. She's going to be going non-stop until the following Tuesday in both states.

Agreed. If either takes both states convincingly, it's over. There are HUGE delegate numbers at stake here... Clinton had the edge 4-6 weeks ago, but now it's nearly a toss up (from the last polls I saw) now.

Hopefully Clinton's team can get going and right her ship.

I think it'd be great if Obama wins and I have to say it certainly looks as if he will. It's about time the States had someone other than a Bush or Clinton in the White House.

Obama is more charismatic and a much better speaker than Clinton, this is true. That said, I also believe he is a better candidate overall. I feel like he actually wants the job to do something positive and I think that he is the stronger candidate to face John McCain.

There is something to be said for a leader who has the ability to mobilize his constituents so thoroughly and energetically.

How long has it been since the US had a leader that people actually enjoyed listening to?

Also, his charisma, character, and speaking ability should help him rebuild the alliances and foreign relations that Bush so thoroughly destroyed.

Obama is strange to me…when I listen too him speak all I hear is change

“The change is coming”

“America needs change”

However I never hear him actually layout any polices about anything really. He just vaguely touches on a few items but nothing seems concrete with this guy.

8 years. Bill Clinton is considered to be one of the best public speakers around. I've seen him speak live in Arizona last year and it was something.

Well, he's a recovering alcoholic, so your odds are pretty long there.

The good news is that if you can get him to just take that first drink, you'll probably get to witness a complete train wreck of a person.

And he would also leave Iraqi with no internal control or protection for external threats.

Probably the biggest problem with Obama is the unknown.

1. We don't know if he keeps his word

2. We don't know much about his policies-this should change as we get closer to November

3. We don't know if he has any skeletons in his closet. Hilliary and McClain do but they already have been exposed so their effect will be minimal. Obama hasn't been under the microscope as long.

This is probably bogus and just a money grab but, come Tuesday if this guy passes the test what does that do to Obama's middle of the road support? I would imagine both parties research their opposition's past in the hope of finding some vulnerabilities. The difference between Obama and Hilliary/McClain is that the later too are old news.
