I actually did a university paper on the methods of torture during the inquisition, and compared and contrasted to the methods used in the middle east and mid century london.

Its an interesting topic, when it comes to killin, people can detach themselves and become darn right creative.

Just like Hannah Arendt said... Evil is banality.

There's only one thing less banal than quoting political theorists, and that's quoting critical theorists.

Crime is crime, law is law and pain is pain...no matter where in the world you may be. If someone is condemned to death, may as well make it quick. Having a rat burrow through your guts or being sewn into a horse...geez. But it's probably no different than anyone here taking a boring job and adding some flair..."let's put grease in his pockets" or "let's piss in the coffee and see what happens". Once you've detached yourself from exactly what your doing, than it's just another day on the job. I'm not trying to defend what they do in other parts of the world, but if thats what normal means to them...

Wow, Iran has some whacky laws and they're planning to kill some women because of them???

Well this is the first I've heard of it, how come no one has made a stink about this before?

Yeah, it's so brilliant though. Do we respect the law or do we respect wisdom?
