I've got a thesis due April 14th with a page requirement of 60-70. I've got 14 so far. It's going to be a long month.

Its my last semester for my undergrad and I have hit that point where I want to put zero effort into my projects and into studying. The good weather puts my brain into summer mode.

Look foward to the day when you get out of school and starting working and realize that you just wasted 50K because what you learnt in school no longer applies to your work

Well my schedule from hell of MGIS, MKTG, and ACCT hasn't been too bad so far, I'm still alive last I checked.
MGIS midterm was easy as hell. Wow...
MKTG the multiple choice was really easy, the short answer wasn't TOO bad, and the case was about what I expected....it was hard, but I'm cautiously optimistic. I suppose my mark will depend on how hard they mark the written and case.
ACCT 317 Saturday morning though...ugh, I have no motivation to study left.
Friend's birthday party Saturday night though, so I'll be able to get rid of the horrible memories of accounting pretty quickly...I suppose that's a good thing
Only bright spot this week is that I got called to tell me I have a job interview for a co-op job over the summer...yay!

The first year of university is trypically pretty easy.
Private Prep school? You'd think your writing would be better. Thats a really long sentence young man!
So many prep school jokes....must resist......willpower....failing......

See that's the really depressing part. If I want a good job, I should get an education, but I get an education, and it has nothing to do with my job. It's very odd.

So far for me it's been pretty beneficial. In public school I could get mid 80's to low 90's without ever studying or doing homework. At my school now I have to work pretty hard to get the same grades. So yeah basically my work ethic has really improved.
Edit: By the way do any former U of A grads have any advice on good profs for first year classes if i'm going into sciences?

The grammar police! What if you're teachers cruise this board? They'd be scared and confused and partly shocked.

Its clearly done you a world of good. Okay, I'm done with the grammar jokes, he is right, it doesnt have to be perfect.
My typing is fairly good, but I'm too lazy to type contractions. Whatever.

I think that was my biggest problem (and still is I suppose) when I got to University. In High School even doing full IB I was able to coast through every course and get mid 80s and low 90s. Now I actually have to do some work and pay attention in class....it took me awhile to figure that one out...
Of course...right now I'm posting on a message board rather than studying accounting.

Well ok, that makes me feel better about blowing 5000 a year. I am comforted in this fact and the fact that at least university has taught me life skills, I hope. I really really hope.

Sorry to disappoint fotze, I wouldn't trade my mother for anything less than Crosby, Malkin, Staal a couple decades of 1st rounders. Didn't hammer "mom" on her performance in the delivery room either, but I supposedly gave the doctor and the nurses a very stern look.

Buddy what's with the rage attack you had on me a few posts up? Way to pull out the anger card.
For your information, I was trying to make jokes with CaptainCrunch, I am sure the guy is well educated and respected. He seems like he is joking, but I am honestly curious to know what his educational background is too. But you really should not attack me like you did a few posts back, I don't appreciate it since my jokes didn't even mention you and are not offensive to anyone.
That being said, you are curious to see why I am complaining so much, and why I am in my 5th year of undergrad? It is because I am getting a double degree (that is, two degrees), which means more time, and I also do work as a teaching assistant for a senior level course. Before you go attacking, make sure you don't assume I am taking a fluff degree. My degrees degrees are in 1) Geology, and 2) Geophysics, both of which I am trying to qualify for honors by doing two senior undergraduate theses.
And now everyone else knows why my semester is that from hell. Does anyone know me from school, now that I have outed myself? (The double degree is rare in my program).
