Q: ... is this a man that Americans can trust?
PRESIDENT BUSH: I will answer the question. I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straightforward and trustworthy. We had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul; a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country.

Well, if you substitute "country" for "siloviki" and "trustworthy" for "trustworthy in his own circles of gangsters and hitmen", Bush has got it right.

Looks like McCain won NH.
Clinton with 37%, Obama with 36% with 11% of the state reporting.
....something like that.

ALL Republicans fall into your description? You are generalizing.
Certainly some of the candidates fit, not all do. Unfortunately too many people out there think exactly like you. Republican=evil or Democrat=incompetent.
Single biggest problem in American politics right now is the polarization that has taken place and the generalizations and stereotyping that has resulted.
Sad.

I'm certain she does care. I'm certain she gives this job and her potential future job everything in her fibre.
However the more important observation is:
1. Does she speak what will please the most voters?
2. Is she told keywords and phrases that please most voters?
3. Is she more practiced in public than most actors in films/tv?
Truth is she's doing what most polititians do in order to get elected, in their own minds all of this is needed for the greater good and its a necessary evil.
Now do we blame the polititians for behaving this way, or the voters and the average dumb american for needing to be spoon fed this BS day in and day out in order to get their vote?
Who's the guilty one?
We could always hope to educate people more effectively, encourage free thinking and make education a top priority for the USA. But its easier to have none of that, keep the populace bored, focused on reality TV shows and celebrity gossip.

I dont think badly of all republicans, Huckabee is a nice guy, but is he right to lead the most powerful country in the world, Romney,Thompson and McCain are petty, the play political games and point fingers.
The democartics arent much better
Clinton- Flip flopper, she has too many old friends in congress to make an new changes
Obama- too new, too naive

More fightin and less Cryin my pappy used to say.
And I'd be far more worried about someone who gets overwhelmed and cries at pressure situation declaring war because her feelings got hurt, or setting up a maritine exclusion zone against North Korea because her dog died.

Well we're different. I'd rather a real person that goes the harder thought out path than a that, like the Bush administration comes up with one plan and doesn't have the guts to change course when it's seen to not be working or make the implementations recommended to it originally.
Good for your pappy, but perhaps people will pick their world leaders from a more solid place? (no offense)
Anyway, no crying took place.

The too new arguement doesn't work any more. Bush got in with little to show for previously and America voted for him twice.
