Shenni's Autotrend is known as being a good BMW service place too.

My experience with Calgary BMW dealerships? Well I wanted to buy a Cooper S at one point and an E46 M3 at a different time. Tried the North and South dealerships. I had such a great experience I'm driving this:

Ha, you know it's bad when Audi/VW service is the better alternative.

Haha, that's another story. Before they built the second Audi dealership it was actually pretty brutal for service wait times. Now that I have no warranty Tunedub is my shop of choice after trying a couple out. Highly recommended for anyone owning a VW/Audi.

I'm so jealous of all my Honda friends that can perform their own repairs without $3K in specialized tools. Stupid Germans.

Which Audi dealership did you use before your warranty went out? How did that go? I ask because I'm also considering the A3, which I've always loved (even though its old in the tooth and being replaced soon).

My third alternative is the GTI.....so yeah, VW/Audi or BMW... apparently I like it rough.

Royal Oak was really good. Quite quiet compared to Glenmore. If I ever had an issue the service manager was extremely fair about everything.

Sales wise, Glenmore was great. It was just their service was ridiculously busy so I didn't always feel like they could put the same attention to detail into my customer experience as I would have liked.

One other question for you BMW owners.....

So BMW hasn't been offering a standard alarm on their cars for a couple of years now (pretty awesome huh? They also dont give you floor mats), and now they've also taken out any pre-wiring, so doing it afterwards becomes expensive. According to the sales guy, it still has an immobilizer and silent alarm, it just wont make any noise. In some ways this is a good thing (since I find alarms to be a giant useless nuisance), however I'm a little concerned it will affect insurance rates.

Has anyone here who's bought a recent BMW gone without this alarm option? Has it affected your insurance rates?

I know some places go all out and take off the bumpers etc to make sure they wrap it so it's completely invisible. I guess it all depends on how much you're willing to spend, but considering the rocks in Calgary, it's kind of a no-brainer.
He will do whatever you want but when he does hoods and bumpers he actually wraps it around so its invisible.

The 3M job on our car was really well done. I would definitely recommend Davinci's Workbench. Everything was wrapped and aligned perfectly, he must have spent an eternity on the front bumper alone.

I wonder when the ######s at BMW Gallery are going to wake up to the fact that booking a fairly simple job (under 3 hours) 4 weeks out doesn't cut it...

It almost makes you excited to be out of warranty so you can go to the independent shops that give a *#$.

Table 5, I don't think insurance alarm discounts are very much at all. I think car theft is low on their claims list, and they do nothing against someone breaking your window and stealing your stuff which is far more common.
