More ambitiously, the movie subversively plays with Trek lore — and those who know it. The opening sequence, for example, is an emotionally wrenching passage that culminates with a mythic climax sure to leave zealots howling ''Heresy!'' But revisionism anxiety is the point. ''The movie,'' Lindelof says, ''is about the act of changing what you know.''
Lol, I bet I know exactly what that heresy is. I bet the climax is Kirk for the first time taking command of the ship and saying something along the lines of "Ahead, warp factor 10"!

Either that or the crew sees Romulans before they're supposed too.

This one will bomb and bomb badly, the day and age of Star Trek is over and done with. the next generation movies with the exception of First contact were garbage. Voyager was terrible, Enterprise was terrible, Deep Space 9 was terrific but people didn't get it, and Next Generation pretty much bored me to tears........
........Just let it die already.
Star Trek doesn't need another shovel full of dirt on its face.
I agree wholeheartedly.
But First Contact was by far the best of the movies, imo.
Kahn is highly overrated. the overacting of both Shatner and the guy who plays Kahn reach extreme levels in that movie and quite irritated me when watching it

But, but, but....the Uhura scene....

At least I would make the argument that those fit with how at other times the characters are portrayed. Don't get me wrong I love both, but I find Picard to be screaming like Captain Ahab more of out character then, Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan.

Umm that movie looks incredibly badass. After reading the comments here I thought it was going to be the anti-medillin but I'm actually more excited for this movie now.
